Just as a heads up for anyone going for this achievement while doing the Hybrid path: If you complete all of the Hybrid quests, the final alien boss will end up becoming a passive NPC and you'll no longer be able to attack them to initiate the final battle. The only way to revert this is by starting a new game and going through the questline again.
It's recommended to start the final boss battle first and finish it to get the achievement to pop. Once it pops, you can exit out of the game and reload your save to finish up the Hybrid path if you want to see the Hybrid ending.
The very last Hybrid quest will have you collect an Exo Fighter and an Alien Cruiser. Once you complete this quest, you'll get the Hybrid ending.
Hope this helps anyone avoid the mistake I made!

You can obtain this in the colosseum but it's far more difficult. This method should still be possible after he becomes passive?

There are two ways to obtain this. In the Spirit World game room (deep underground on Eastern Island) or by defeating it at the Enemy HQ
I obtained it via the spirit world game room. You must defeat the lower-level bosses and spend spirit points to reach the top tiers to challenge the Heart. In the spirit world game room, you are given a particular set of equipment and items and must defeat each boss with them.
I accomplished this before going to the enemy HQ, however you can obtain this achievement after dealing with the enemy and is probably why the achievement will pop here in the first place to ensure if you choose peace, you can still get it.
