On the planet Mars you must follow the Exile's missions so that he opens a portal to the spirit world, which will only be visible with spirit goggles or a spirit fox helmet.
Once you enter the spiritual world, talk to the NPC so that he gives you a weapon with which you can kill spirits, and gather spirt, which will serve you to later exchange them for "Spirit Tree Seed" (costs 100 spirit).
I recommend killing the spirits on the initial island since in the spirit world it is very difficult, and a good area where three appear in a row is on Cultivator Island.

A regular cat or a black cat as companion also allow to see spirit stuff. IMO, cats are better so you don't have to unequip your helmet.
