How to unlock the Kicking Tires achievement in AirMech Arena - Definitive Guide

There are 9 classes of AirMech's, and as far as I know, you need to complete the game in some fashion--win or lose. smile
There are many custom colors for each class, but you only need to fly one color from each class.

These are the classes:
Striker
Helix
Bomber
Warthog
Saucer
Osprey
Neo
Paladin
Angel

If you buy Premium, then you would have all the classes unlocked, otherwise level 18 is when you unlock the last class Angel if you haven't gotten one of those out of a prize box or something.

There was/is a glitch and helpful way of getting extra AirMech's done--this appears extremely glitchy or has been patched:

also there are a few that you can play in the challenges/tutorials so you wouldn't have to buy them if you don't want to. not sure though which ones that been.. ^^

Yes... I tried flying the other AirMech's that way, and I'm not sure that worked.. it might though, because I remember my achievement progress being about 45% when I thought I had only used one. Maybe the challenges take care of 3 of them? If anyone could actually confirm that would be fantastic. smile

well i did all challenges and the whole tutorial and i'm at 55% without purchasing another mech.. wink

..but as you wrote other players mechs count towards your progress too so there could be some % from that.. ^^

..and the glitch, if it existed, is patched. i know that because i played a couple of survival matches now and there was someone with a saucer, but my achievement progress still was at 55% until i buyed one myself now and used it, now the progress is at 66%.. wave

Well, it hasn't been 100% confirmed.. I myself got a saucer out of a box and wasn't able to view the achievement progress pre-saucer.. so I think it might still work with other AirMech's. dance Or maybe not work with certain AirMech's but works with others?

I've updated the solution slightly, hopefully someone else can confirm, who hasn't already unlocked all the classes or this achievement yet!

Sorry for the late reply, forgot I commented here. I myself have had no luck after playing with a friend who had every class unlocked. I guess I should have clarified better in my previous comment redface wink

You can't unlock the ubtil you get to a certain level for each you should put the levels you need to be

yes i did play a couple of matches in multiplayer, not many though, only around 10 now. and i'm still at 55%.. :)

Better late than never dance Thanks for updating; I'm quite puzzled honestly though, was this updated? The game's been out for a while and I don't recall getting an update--do you remember an update for AirMech? Maybe this is just extremely glitchy and can't be relied upon at all--just, if it happens in your favor, hurray! smile

There are nine types of AirMechs available. When you first start the game you get one free. The others have to be purchased using Kudos (one of the in-game currencies). After you purchase an AirMech, go play a game and ensure you equip it. You don't need to win, but you do need to finish the game. If boosting it, you can have your opponent quit from a PvP custom 1x1 game as soon as the map loads and that will count toward this achievement. A more efficient approach is simply to play a co-op skirmish match using the Ultimate Bucky rush detailed in the guide for "King of the Mountain" while using the AirMech you just purchased.
