How to unlock the In One Go achievement in Alan Wake 2 - Definitive Guide

This can easily be done in Return 3 "Local Girl" after you grab the screwdriver in Coffee World, when you walk out the coffee mug attraction turn left before the talking mug and you'll see 3 arrows in a tent on the left side, in front of you'll see a Taken coming at you, kill it normally go left and stand in the Light and
just wait for the dude coming from the left side, make sure to charge the crossbow for extra dmg hold
after you hear a click you've a few secs to shoot. (if you have the upgrade "Pull the String").

It's more freaking complicated than just saying "headshot". The walkthrough claims that on story difficulty even a bodyshot will one hit kill an enemy (writer seems to be specifically talking about a Taken Thrower at this point - other enemies may vary). But on normal I couldn't even get a headshot to be a one hit kill until I also purchased the upgrade that lets you hold and release the shoot button for a more powerful shot. Now it's pretty consistent on the weaker enemies (throwers, wolves) but still definitely not a guaranteed thing.

If you’re having trouble with a taken, a Wolf is a bit easier as they will slowly walk to you before attack. Easy opportunity to get a shot out to the head to unlock the achievement. Don’t forget to collect your arrows from the corpse

An even easier way is the 2nd boss fight with the two that come out of the well. (trying to not spoil). The first guy has a sniper. They will warp up to a ledge and stay there shooting at you. Simply aim and fire from behind the boulder facing him.
