Mostly will happen naturally as you play and it continues to count with Nightmare mode and DLCs also.

Take the torch... weaken the Taken. Shoot with the revolver. Rinse and repeat 100 times. Easy and definitely possible to pick up in one playthrough. Two shots per standard Taken and about four per beefy Taken (on Normal).
