How to unlock the Tornado Wrangler achievement in Alan Wake - Definitive Guide
This is an achievement related to defeating the final boss of the game. It took me a bit to figure out what the heck you're actually supposed to do during the final battle. Once you know what to do though it's incredibly simple.
To start with go to the box of flare gun ammo lying on the ground to your right and load up on them. Watch the debris that is circling the tornado and carefully fire your flares so that you clear some of it up. This stuff is flying really fast and avoiding it can be tricky so just try to get rid of a bit.
Once you think you've cleared a path restock on ammo before leaping across the gap in front of the supply box to get closer to the tornado. Alan will talk about needing to fire a flare into the heart of the tornado, this is your tip. Aim for the center mass of the tornado and just start firing off flares. It can be a bit tricky to hit with all the debris and the fact that it moves a bit but it shouldn't take more than a few shots to end the battle.
Now all that's left is to finish up the ending and you'll have completed the game.

Glad it helped. I was actually confused when I first fought the blasted thing.

This achievement is story related and you obtain this at the end of the game of Alan Wake.
As for some tips on beating this pathetically easy tornado, even on Nightmare:
1) USE THE FLARE GUN: There is nothing else that is in your arsenal that will allow you to beat this boss except the flare gun. What I did was just aim for the dead center of the Women in Black with the flare and when it explodes it does quite a significant amount of damage to her buses that are circling around her.
-NOTE: If you are a horrible shot with the flare gun and cannot hit the side of a barn, DO NOT worry, there is a box on the first cliff ledge thing with an ample amount of flares to shoot at her. (When I beat her I looked at the box and I had about 8-9 left over)
2) When jumping from ledge to ledge, LOOK TO YOUR RIGHT AND LEFT! I can't stress this enough! There are flying things that are revolving around in between the gaps that will knock Alan off and make you have to restart the whole fight.
Follow these tips and you should have NO problem beating this extremely easy final boss. But serious, it was almost easier than the final boss from Dead Space
Post comments if you have any additional suggestions or problems and I will give you more advice.
