I had a bit of trouble running by the enemy and making it to the bed on time. I found it helped to jump along the flat portions of the path.

I can confirm that you can mess up after the checkpoint halfway through this sequence and still get the achievement

Yep worked for me, thought I missed this (due to dying half way up). I missed the jump and fell to my death. I reloaded the check point immediately, started where the bad guy swings at ya, hit the the jump, made the path appear + ladder & pop. I got it. :P Good Guide

A very important tip: the time counter for the achievement is saved when you reach a checkpoint in this area, right when you meet one of the taken. If you get to that part fast you can try as much as you want and it is not a problem if you fall. The game is very lenient so you just need to be fast to reach the first checkpoint and then do the same for the second part. I even fell after reaching the final ledge and got the achievement.

The tornado appears shortly after you begin to traverse the empty space using words from the manuscript pages to create a substitute bridge of sorts. Rotating around the tornado are many ‘bridge’ words that can be activated with your flashlight. Simply shine your light on the one closest to you, jump carefully on it, look for a ‘path’ word, shine your light on it, and jump to it. It is important to time your jumps, despite being under a time limit, as it is fairly easy to misjudge and fall. A heavy Taken will attack you on this rather thin path, either run past him in terror or finish him off quickly. Repeat the process for the second level of the tornado. If done in time, the achievement will unlock as you grab for the ladder.

If you mess up and die, don’t give up straight away — I found it is still possible to earn the achievement, even if you respawn and continue.

I’m not sure if the game includes the time it look for you to die and for the game to reload, or if it continues the timer from when it saved. However, as long as you were fast enough before you died, you should be able to continue and attempt the jump again (as long as it saved at the right point). It’s still worth trying again, even to practice.

I messed up the jump onto the bed, but managed the jump on my second attempt after respawning and got the achievement. You want to jump when the corner of the bed is closest and aim towards the middle. It can be a hard jump to make, but it seems it is the only possible one within the minute you have to do it.

Also:

- Don’t shoot the Taken. Use your torch to briefly stun him and get away from him quickly.

- Be careful when running. Alan will stop to catch his breath if you run for too long, so take that into consideration so you don’t waste time. (Especially up the second set of steps).

This is part of The Writer DLC.

Explaining with text is quite difficult. Review the video guide below for an easier time.

You will find the tornado right after going through the spinning cabin. A manuscript will fall from the sky and after you read it, you will be able to shine your light on the words to create a path. It's advised you use the walkway part in the first word nearest you. As you rotate, try to look up and light as many words as you can, while paying attention enough to create the next path. When you jump to the new area, you will hit a checkpoint and if you fail this achievement from this point, you must restart the whole episode. A bigger Taken will appear and attempt to just push you off the ledge. You should kill him quickly and run up to the next series of words to get to the next object you feel you can leap to. Once you create the last path, jump to it and the achievement will unlock if done quickly enough.
