Hit 4 Enemies With a Single Hobby Horse Ground Smash

How to unlock the Neighslayer achievement in Alice: Madness Returns - Definitive Guide

Easiest Technique for me...

I waited until I beat the game, so that I could use chapter select...
Make sure the difficulty is set to easy so that getting hit doesnt matter...
Go to Chapter 2, "Deluded Depths"
Load "Barrelbottom"
Once you enter the town, destroy the coral on the right, and make your way down to "Radula Room 2"
The enemies here are the easy soldiers with silverware weapons... simply run to the middle and let them swam you...
Attack with the "Y" and achievement will pop...

*Thanks to https://www.trueachievements.com/SmokingBmbr465.htm for mentioning hitting the "slithering ruin" enemies does NOT count towards your 4 hits... this is probably why some people aren't getting this on the first try

*BobWings suggested this video
...*Thanks Vinicius Menti for spotting the level on the video, the clip is from chapter 1, "About Face"... in the comments it says that you dont have to actually kill them all with the attack, you just have to hit 4 characters at once with the final blow...

**can someone confirm that this is a double or triple Y combo? I have been without this game since I rented it and returned it

This also worked for me, though I hit 4 enemies 5 or 6 times without it working but it popped eventually.

I am having a heck of a time with this. Am I missing something? I only ever hit one guy when I swing regardless of the group.

Like AceCardJones, I know I hit 4 enemies at once a number of times but after a series of attempts eventually it popped. Thanks for the guide.

This is by far the easiest solution. It starts you off only 30 seconds from the Radula room he's speaking of. And though you might not get on your first couple of tries (took me about 5 swings), the event lasts long enough you should have no problem. I just stayed in the middle and let them all bunch up on me, total time from start to achievement 1 minute including loading time. Thanks for the advice.

Noteworthy that this achievement does not unlock if you do it against "Slithering Ruin".

No prob--and I am with 13th Warrior--your solution is I believe the easiest spot in the game!

The video shows chapter 1 - About Face. This is when you get the Hysteria tutorial. Replayed this level on easy and one hit got 4 of them at once. Thanks for the guide!

That's a great spot. I actually had to put it on hard. Easy was killing them too quickly.

It's actually the loadable checkpoint of Chapter 1 - After Elvensies. You'll have to play upto the bit where you walk through the 'Alice Door' where you get a little bit more of the fire backstory. Right after this point, there's a 'soft reload' point, whereby, if you don't get the 4, reload the last checkpoint. Takes about 3-5 mins to get there.

Still took me a few attempts, on Hard, with a fully upgraded Hobby Horse.

I used the video solution. I was getting frustrated because I couldn't get it to pop, but on my fourth try it finally did.

If you use this solution to make your life a hell of a lot easier just through a bomb and all the enemies stand around it and then swing and there you go achievement unlocked

Great solution! Thanks!

I struggled with this one. Didnt get it with my normal playthrough which surprised me and I couldn't get you pop. I figured it out:

If you have the DLC and you are using the upgraded Hobby Horse (the Knightmare... And why wouldn't you? It's awesome) this achievement will not pop. You must be using the vanilla Hobby horse for this achievement.

Tried a few different things and it wasn't popping. Then went back to your Radula Room method and got it second try. On Nightmare so they wouldn't die. Dropped a bomb on the narrow bit of the platform and hit 5 or 6 at once with the third strike. Pop! Wasn't really any different to other times I tried but just got lucky I guess. Very temperamental achievement. Thanks!

I tried in the Radula Room. I hit at least 4 enemies like 4 or 5 times and never got the achievement. I'm voting negative since the guide didn't work.

To anyone coming and trying to follow the video posted in the solution: The hysteria tutorial level is actually "Always Elevenses", not "About Face".

I have to disagree with SmokingBmbr465 in that Slithering Ruin enemies can and do unlock it, it's just tricky when they will die easily to swings 1 and 2. I unlocked this achievement in the Slithering Ruin Drowned Sailor room from Chapter 2 with a well timed combo.

I have been actively trying to get this during my first playthrough but the achievement wouldn’t pop. I watched a video and realized Alice wasn’t doing the animation with the slam. I had to upgrade my hobby horse to level two before I could do the combo.

I definitely got my achievement on the slithering ruin group after invisible platforms during Downtown Cellars of Chapter 5. right after the spiky section before the Radula Room 2. There were 6 of them (I killed 5) with the third smash by being far enough away when starting the combo so not to kill any with the first two swings.

using the bomb to lure, knocked the difficulty up to Nightmare - job done

Anyone reading this guide - Save time, use the bobwings suggested video that OP has but it is actually in Chapter 1 "always elevenses". Worked first time for me. Although I wasted 20 minutes running through "about face" before realising that the guide is wrong and looking at the comments on YouTube to find the truth.

The video location, Chapter 1 - Always Elevenses, was such a huge help!

Just to clarify - I did Ch1 - Always Elevenses (on Easy)... get to Hysteria room, throw bomb to lure enemies.... but because weapon is fully upgraded I had to swing twice away from them, then lock on for final hit... they die too fast otherwise so it saved restarting on hard.

ChewieOnIce is absolutely correct. I was wondering why the hell the achievement wouldn't pop. As SOON as I took off the 'knightmare' DLC weapon it popped easily. +1 for this great solution and thanks to Chewie for the advice.

Your method gave me some problems. I couldn't seem to get it right. I found a guide from a PS3 site (that's how desperate I got!) that uses chapter 1 and the checkpoint elevenses where you get hysteria for the first time.
check it out and see if it's worth adding to the guide.

took me four tries, but worked.

Hit 4 Enemies With a Single Hobby Horse Ground Smash

Simple, let 4 enemies group around you and hit Y, so long as all 4 are hit, the achievements yours. In one of the "Paint the Rose Red" rooms you're required to survive a certain amount of time, while fighting mad cappers, this is an excellent place to easily get the achievement.

I was having trouble with this, but I realised that I was killing a couple of the enemies in the group after using the hobby horse ground smash. The achievement popped for me after using the ground smash and all 4 enemies stayed alive. Hope this helps :)

I just got this really easily in an underground/cave room of Slithering Ruin enemies that continually regenerated in Chapter 3, second or third section of the of the scrolls on the climb to the caterpillar. Run around for a bit so that 5 or all 6 group together on top of one another. Back up and start swinging about 2 1/2 to 3 Hobby Horse-lengths back from the group so you don't accidentally kill any of the enemies before the third swing/smash. As soon as you connect with the smash, the Achievement will pop.

I just wanted to add that the checkpoint for this is West Peak Prison Village in chapter 3. This is right before one of the picture puzzles, and after you activate it, take the tunnel to the right to find the slithering ruins.

Chapter 2 - Deluded Depths
Section 6 - Barrelbottom

Enter the town and go to the breakable coral to the right. Break through and go down the ramp to a radula room. Enter the room. Stay in the middle and let the enemies swarm you. Then hit Y to use the Hobby Horse.

IMPORTANT: If you have finished the game and your Hobby Horse is at maximum level, you will need to change the difficulty setting to Hard or Nightmare so that the enemies are not killed by your first smash. Even then it took me 5 or 6 smashes to get the achievement to pop.

Right after you receive the Hobby Horse weapon, there is a cave with several Ice Snarks and Ruins that opens out on the ocean. On the side that opens out to the ocean, there is a spot with two breakable stars. Hide behind the stars until all the enemies bunch up. Then start swinging. Breaking the stars will give you an extra swing and the enemies don't need to die on the final swing.

You can easily get this trophy while on the 2nd chapter while going up against the third sailor you have to save. At that time of the third fight, you will go up against a sailor and 5 slithering ruins, have 4 of them close to each other and then launch a combo, the third hit should connect ( x3), it will be an over the shoulder hit that should connect with four enemies. If you kill them, it will not count.

Alternative Location 1: From Kaze Katana (X360A)
In chapter 3 there is a room with re-spawning slugs (while looking for one of the cubes) which you need to kill to open the path to continue, just keep circling them until they are clumped together and fire away with your Hobby Horse. Neigh! You can also use the Clockwork Bomb to draw them in closer.

Alternative Location 2:
When you are in one of the Radula Rooms that is in the second chapter, where you have to kill everything. Just use the Hobby Horse, Make sure that you get four enemies with the third hit ( ). Make sure to lock on to one of them with to make sure you hit your target. Most importantly though is use the clockwork bomb to draw them in closer, faster.

Alternative location 3:
You can earn this trophy will fighting against the cards in chapter 4. There will be a great deal of them, when you first get introduced to them, so make sure to use the hobby horse to go about fighting them.

Thanks to Wozamil for the video:

You will obtain the Hobby Horse during Chapter 2. You need to combo the Hobby Horse by pressing . The first two hits don't need to land but the third one does! Simply hit 4 enemies with this attack to unlock the achievement.

" Hysteria". Don't turn it on. Wait until the enemies are grouped, aim at one and stupidly hit the crowd until you get the achievement. If you don't succeed the first time, reboot, the save will be right there.

The achievement can be easily obtained by luring the sliding ruins (snails) with a rabbit bomb. As the game progresses, there will be places where only they crawl. After 4 pieces gather at the bomb, go up and hit the horse.
