How to unlock the Archivist achievement in Alien: Isolation - Definitive Guide

There are a total of 10 Nostromo Logs in Alien: Isolation. Some of these require you to have the gas mask and an upgraded Ion Torch and Security Access Tuner. I recommend you replay Mission 16 which is when you should have all of these tools and access to the locations.

[0:00] 001: An Initial Report
In the monitoring rooms of Seegson Communications in the corner of the relay facility.

[0:31] 002: Science Officer Reporting
Up the stairs on the left of the transit station in Lorenz Systech Spire toward Workplace Solutions. The Nostromo log is inside a room that requires an upgraded security access tuner to enter.

[1:18] 003: Delayed Pick Up
In the Lorenz Systech Spire server farm, there is an open room which requires a gas mask to acquire the Nostromo Log.

[2:03] 004: Overworked & Underpaid
Up the stairs on the left of the Sevastopol SciMed Tower Transit Station through the locked door that requires an upgraded Ion Torch, into the room on the left and then through the next locked door that requires a upgraded Ion Torch

[2:43] 005: System Check Went Okay
In the San Cristobal Medical Facility on the Primary Care Floor. To the right of the room that is on fire, through the door that has a sign for the service elevator, there is a room that requires an upgraded Ion Torch and a gas mask.

[3:44] 006: The Secondary Load Unit
At the back of Seegson Synthetics is the Synthetic Storage area where there is a ladder that goes up to a room that you will need a gas mask.

[4:39] 007: Finishing Up Here
In the north Maintenance Deck of Engineering by the workshop, there is a locked room the requires a level 3 security access tuner to enter.

[5:39] 008: Antarctica Control Will Get Our Call
In the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions Manufacture & Distribution, there is an Ore processing area with a ladder to take you towards a room on the right that requires an upgraded Ion Torch to enter.

[6:40] 009: Health Checks
I think this one can only be found on mission 17 in the foggy room of Solomons Habitation Tower, when your objective is to access the spaceflight terminal.

[7:06] 010: Nostromo Report Packet
When you return to the Sevastopol Spaceflight Terminal at the end of mission 17 in the passenger lounge underneath the stairs is a room that requires an upgraded Ion Torch to enter.

Hi im playing the 360 version can u get these later in the game as i couldnt get one due to me not having a gas mask or ion torch?

Thank you for the helpful guide. However, it would have been more helpful if you had included instructions for how to find the Maintenance Deck elevator for #7 and the elevator to reach Gemini Exoplant Solutions for #8.

Number 8. Take transit Lorenz Systech Spire. Go to the lobby and go to the second floor and use the elevator to Gemini Exoplanet Solutions . Take the ladder up from ore processing then go right and the left door requires ion torch and it's yours!

Mine never popped even having all 10, had to replay mission 4 and collect it again before it unlocked

But can you add what you said about number 8 in the solution. I had to look for #6 and #8 on where to find the elivator to get to thos locations.

Number 7:
Get to Sevastopol Scimed Tower transit station.
Take the transit to Engineering Decks (look for the sign Engineering Decks at the transit station)
When you reach Engineering Central Reactor take the elevator to Engineering Maintenance Deck.
You can find the elevator when you walk out of the transit station and take a right.

There are a total of 10 Nostromo Logs within the game, and they can all be attained during your first playthrough or afterwards by revisiting chapters or using the travel system between areas.

They can be found on the follow missions:
Mission 4 - 1 Log
Mission 10 - 1 Log
Mission 12 - 1 Log
Mission 15 - 1 Log
Mission 16 - 4 Logs
Mission 17 - 2 Logs

You can click on each mission to be taken to a video showing all collectibles for that mission. You can also go HERE, in order to see a large thread showing all collectibles. Collecting all 10 will unlock the achievement.

Note: Some Nostromo logs can be seen early in the game, but will not be accessible unless you return to them with upgraded equipment.

There are 10 Nostromo Logs in total in the game and they are saved automatically when you pick them up. They all have different names like the ID tags so you can easily keep track of them. You may as well wait until mission 16 to collect them all since you will only be able to access most of them after mission 16 during the free roam when you have access to all your tools. If you do happen to miss any they can be gotten via mission select.

Free Roam works via travelling between the transit stations, Lorenz Systech Spire, Sevastopol Scimed Tower, Solomon's Habitation Tower and Engineering. On the map you can see where each exit takes you so you can find the area where the Logs are. The final 2 logs are gotten in mission 17.

All magazines are collected in the 16th mission, when you have the 3rd improvement of the hacking device, an ion cutter and a gas mask, the whole of “Sevastopol” is open to you, watch the video, collect it.

At level 16, you can reduce the log collection time like this:
save at a defining point, for example at a transit in different directions, go in the right direction, collect magazines and instead of running back, just load the save at the transit and move on for the next ones.
