How to unlock the Anytime, Anywhere achievement in Aliens Colonial Marines - Definitive Guide

Found a really easy way to do this. Mission 9 Hope in Hadleys you will fight the crusher. After you rescue the marines and hold off the ambush in cargo bay you will go back outside. Once outside you will go through a metal gate, once the gate closes you will meet the crusher. Look immediately to your left and you will see an incline in the corner you can jump upto. Jump up here and the crusher will not attack or even move, so shoot it from there. Your teammates will also be shooting at it, it takes a lot of bullets of kill. It wasn't dying after I nearly exhausted my ammo so jumped down from my spot and it charged towards me. Luckily it died with one more hit.

Below is a video showing you how to do it, credit for the video goes to azGRIMES

Worked like a charm - great solution.

Some Protips: Play on Recruit and stock up on ammo from the infinite ammo dump in the garage. Use the BR with the 4x zoom scope and the firepower upgrade to make this easier. Also, if you put the turret facing the corner during the garage battle, bring it with you and set it down in the middle of the road when the crusher spawns. The turret ended up killing it for me!

i hid in the spot mentioned and my AI team killed it and i got no achievement, so it seems you must be the one to kill it not your AI team members

Yeah the AI members are really annoying especially when attempting challenges.

From that spot, the Phased Plasma Rifle will penetrate it's head and register a successful hit, but it takes good accuracy and almost every round you have, Just make sure to be on point with your reloads so you get the kill before Cruz or O'Neal

This is also a great spot to do the "every round from your clip hits" challenge.

Really easy way to do this is to boot up a private team death match with a buddy. For the person going for the achievement wait until you are the marine and then have your friend run around until they find the Crusher change station. Have them become the Crusher and then they let you kill them....Achievement Unlocked!

Playing on Badass I entered the level and threw a few grenades at the Crusher by the APC before it made its first charge.

As it started the first charge I ran away (ahhhh!) round the loop taking out stray Xeno's on route until I made it back to the APC. There is a finite number of these strays and it'll soon be you and the big boy.

Then I started a game of chasey peekaboo round and round the APC shooting when safe. You're NPC buddies lend a hand and before long the beast goes down.

As it drops you get the 'plink'.

the crusher is right at a check point on mission 9 so you can keep restarting if you fail. Use the Sentry gun to distract the crusher then shoot him in the back until he is dead. This is best done on the easiest difficulty setting.

This is best obtained in Mission 9 - Hope in Hadley's.

The good news is the crusher appears right at a check point so you can keep restarting it quickly. The trick is to use and type of fire weapons on him and shoot anywhere but his head. When he comes at you just walk to the side and keep on walking away from him. This is best done on the easiest difficulty setting.

First thing you need to do is setup a private tdm on last hope. whoever needs the achievement spawn as the marines and have your friend spawn as the xeno. Now you both need to meet up in the centre of the map. Wait 2 minutes and go to the crusher spawn point thats in the video and press x to become the crusher. then stand there until the marine kills the crusher and the achievement will pop. Also good for getting the challenge for killing the crusher with the service pistol. Hope this helps. Peace out

A quick way to boost this in multiplayer is on 1 vs. 1 Team Deathmatch (map is Last Hope) and have the player using the alien become the Crusher. This is done by receiving a prompt to "press  unleash the crusher" when near a "hive" location. There are 2 along the path under the bridge in the middle of the map. To the alien, these will have a real bright yellow/green highlight to them (one located next to a forklift). Once transformed, the marine (who's trying to earn this achievement) must shoot the body (explosives speed this up to) to kill it. Remember the head is nearly invincible and your friend shouldn't damage you for this achievement.
Towards the end of mission 9 (Hope in Hadley's) there is a fight with a crusher if you'd like to attempt this in campaign. Once it appears, find high ground (hill, slope, crate) to avoid damage from it. Kill using your explosives and shooting the body. You must get the kill for this to count. Use restart checkpoint to your advantage if you're damaged by it or don't get the kill. Remember the head is invulnerable. This is easier in co-op to have someone distract it. The AI can still steal your kill, so be aware.

Be sure to listen to the explanation while watching the video from azGRIMES:

A Crusher is the large Xenomorph with the protective shell in front of its head that frequently charges and tries to trample you. There is only one in the Campaign, located in the ninth chapter "Hope in Hadley's". This foe can take a lot of punishment, especially from the front so you will need to shoot it in the back to deal any significant damage to it. OverBlownGaming has provided a very effective strategy that involves taking the Sentry Turret from the earlier battle with you and using it as a distraction against the Crusher. Using the destroyed APC as cover, you can slowly whittle down the Crusher's health from a relatively safe position. For a visual example of this strategy, please see below:

Alternatively this trophy can be boosted Online with two players, if you wish. Set up a Private Team Deathmatch game on the Last Hope map. Wait until there are three minutes left on the clock, and make your way over to the overgrowth that is covering the wall on the lower level (same area with the downed APC in the middle) and press to activate the Crusher. It's then just a case of standing there and allowing the other player to kill you.

In general, the boss itself is not very difficult, but the biggest distraction is the xenos that crawl out of the holes, don’t pay attention, just run with the thug near O’Neill and Cruz, they will gradually kill them. As soon as we run out and see the thug, we take a pulse rifle with incendiary cartridges and a jammer. We kill him, but stay at least 7-10 meters away from him and go back, he will run at you - you move away, turn around and shoot with alternative incendiary cartridges. Then, when he turns his head towards you, go back again and when he runs towards you, move away and turn around.
Also, you can take a turret before the checkpoint and, preferably, in the battle with the xenos who was in the hangar, do not place the turret and run with it to the thug and place it there.

Entrance to the location with the thug, first turn left. There is a through barricade there, stand at the corner between the first and third relative to the entrance and the thug stupidly stands behind the car and doesn’t go anywhere. We kill him calmly.

In a private game, ask a friend to play as the thug (he appears after two minutes of the game), kill him and that’s it.
