How to unlock the It's a Dry Heat achievement in Aliens Colonial Marines - Definitive Guide
At the end of Chapter 6, you will be waiting for a door to open so that you may advance. Five or six WU grunts will attempt to squeeze through the door at once. Throw the grenade when you see the first and the others should catch fire, unlocking the achievement.
Hopefully this assuages any difficulty. It is easier with humans anyway, as their movements are not nearly as erratic as the Xenomorphs.

You will come to a long empty corridor, with a window viewing space on your right. You then open a door on your left, and there is a solitary xeno crouched behind the door.
In the right place? Super.
When you open the next door, you'll be in another long corridor, with a window (viewing outer space) on your right. You'll see Xeno's appear, and run away.
This is a pre-scripted event. 4-5 Xenos will exit vents, and run (away from you) towards 4-5 Weyland Mercs. The Xenos attack, and then you have 10 or so people clustered in a very small space. Just throw your firebomb grenade (select it using Y), and wait.
I got this first attempt. Theres just so many enemies in one spot, its hard to miss.
Once the firebomb is available (Rank 4), select the grenade by holding and pressing left on your left analog stick to highlight it when you release . The firebomb grenade launcher doesn't work for this achievement and sometimes the soldiers count, but not every time like they should. I think "enemies" should've said "aliens" or "Xenos" to make this easier. In any case, there's multiple locations in the campaign where throwing the firebomb will net you the achievement. Personally I used mission 1 (Distress) when O'Neil needs to be defended while cutting open a door. Restart checkpoint gives you multiple attempts to make sure at least 3 catch fire from one grenade toss.
This can be a little tricky against Xenomorphs so I suggest trying for this trophy against Humans, as the Firebomb is a lot more effective against them. There are numerous areas in the game where you'll encounter a group of enemies bunched together but I found the most effective to be right at the beginning of the second chapter, Battle for Sulaco. As soon as you start, kill the two enemies that blast through the door, and enter the newly opened area. On the far side of the room are a good 4-5 enemies that will jump through the windows and take cover very close to each other, thus presenting a perfect opportunity for this trophy. If you fail to get it, you can simply restart the checkpoint and try again.
Alternatively you can try it against Xenomorphs if you wish but it will be harder. The long corridor area where you first use the Smart Gun in the fourth chapter, No Hope in Hadley's will also present many opportunities for this. Please note that you will need to use the handheld Firebomb in order to unlock this trophy and not the Pulse Rifle version.
