How to unlock the Keen Eye achievement in Aliens: Fireteam Elite - Definitive Guide

These bad boys are randomly generated each level.

Keoskey has mentioned as well that they will give off a loud sound that will stop once you pick it up. This may help you track it down if you don't see it right away.

They include 3 items of a random assortment that will help with your other achievements like the Decals, Hats, Attachments, etc.

I found this guide that gives some great information on them.

Keep in mind once you find a cache you do not need to finish the level.

Update 1: Thanks goes to CADD for the addition!
+ Locations are random but appear to be consistent amount 3-4 spots on each map. With enough farming, you will get a feel for "which map" you got as they seem related to other random effects in the map.
For example; on the first map when you approach the catwalk near the end, you will almost never get the hidden prowler AND the hidden cache together to the left of the doorway.

Not the rule, but is normal.

Also, you don't always get 3 items, I had a two-day run where every hidden cache only gave me two items ( cosmetic item was missing).

My suggestion, Act 3 (Gift of Fire), Mission 1 (Recon).

Relatively short mission (a good run could be 15-20min!), And 3 of the locations are quite easy (not sure if there's more, will try to update).

1. Near the start, in the first "main" room. You will scan a dead droid, then it will send you out the left side of the room. The cache is on the right side, directly opposite.
Edit: It can spawn on either side of this room in the mirrored position

2. When you go down some stairs and see a round centre piece and an ammo box to the left, the cache is further left of the ammo box. This is also where you get the "Investigate Anomaly" objective.

3 & 4. These are next to each other. When you progress a bit further and reach a room with a hologram facing you, and two symmetrical, winding paths to choose from (they meet back up), in the back of that room before you enter a tunnel, there's a little platform you can mount with B. The cache will be on here, next to the tunnel entrance (mirrored, one spawn by each entrance)

Hope this helps someone!

Edit: I found a one new just before the pair. Added above

Dang, I’ll check my tracker today and see if I’m experiencing the same thing.

Remember that it seems tracking only updates if you are host during a game. If you’re playing solo and it’s not tracking it might be an issue related to the update.

On top of the case being bright orange and having glowing lights. When you get near a cache it gives off a loud sound when you are Near one that stop when you pick it up.

This one seems to have stopped tracking for me. I normally let my friends host the game, is this happening to anyone else? My friends are on 20% whilst I'm stuck at 6% (which I have to guess are the ones I've gotten by myself when playing alone)

... Found another.
In the room before the stairs (it's medium size, low roof, bunch of pillars. You do another lidar scan) it can spawn behind the far left pillar.

Note I found this on a hardcore character, and it still updated the tracker, despite the lifetime stats being character dependent (and thus only showing 1 total)

Finally, I can confirm you can quit after opening then and you keep the loot and progress (to be safe, I always waited for the popup to disappear first)

This achievement is ridiculous, it practically forces you to spend dozens of hours just to get a few boxes. Simply shameful what the developers have done with this game!

Thanks As R0me Burns, for the solution.
