How to unlock the Trigger Discipline achievement in Aliens: Fireteam Elite - Definitive Guide
I got this today after reading some comments here and would like to add a couple of pointers.
Mission 1:1 is perfect for this as the encounters are relatively easy. I would recommend being a technician (Lvl 3+) with two bots, as random team mates tend to spin while shooting, throw grenades, or just generally make a mess.
Make sure to use the flame upgrade to your turret as it cannot damage the bots, and any upgrades that reduce its cool down time.
I also found that starting with 3 electro grids and 3 cyro grids worked well and they do not cause friendly fire, even if they explode directly under a bot.
Be careful to only shoot enemies that are far away (to avoid acid friendly fire splashes) and make sure you do NOT use the overload rounds on the shotgun, as the explosive blast for a headshot will count as friendly fire.
One specific thing is try to save one cryo grid for the last 60 seconds of the final elevator defense, you may want it for slowing down the warrior so you can leg it to the elevator (only you need to make it).
Stick behind the fire turret and dodge away when needed, good luck all.
P.s. this is my first guide so hopefully it's okay. Let me know if you have any questions or something doesn't work

Woo-hoo ! Achievement unlocked!
My few additonal tips:
--- Level up your preferred class and guns to max.
--- Play through the campaign on INTENSE. This will teach you to avoid friendly fire, and you might just unlock this achievement naturally.
--- If you accidentally shoot an AI teammate, finish the mission anyway. Keep practicing the art of avoiding friendly fire and playing on INTENSE.
Plus, you'll need the credits and scrip to buy items from SSGT Park's shop.
Plus, when completing a mission on INTENSE or higher, you have a chance of earning a gun, attachment, color, decal or emote that you cannot buy from SSGT Park.
--- Position yourself up against cover when firing "straight" down range. This greatly reduces the chance of an AI jumping into your line of fire without warning.
--- After a few tries, and you feel confident enough, use a bonus card such as the "Magnificent Weaponry" card that boosts gun damage by 35%. It's worth it to unlock an achievement.
Be diligent. This is a fun and satisfying achievement to earn.

Agree with thw OP.
I got to final fight with 1 bot as one died. 3 turrets and 3 static grids 3 turrets i brought. 3 from the mision plus my flame turret at the front.
3 grids to lock xenos in place in front of turrets. My second bot died to warrior and i spent last 20 seconds doing laps of the elevatpr waiting for it to open.... flame turret dealing with bugs.
Remember all you have to do it survive and no friendly fire. Lets synths and turrets do the work.
Shoot.Very. Sparingly.
As an extra point. The challenge card that makes you stand sill to shoot seemed to help ( stop the bots running in front of you when they are shooting).
Also. Dont shoot exploding bugs. Even if you dont finish them off. You may 'contribute' to the kill when it hurts your bot. I left my bots to deal themselves and take the hit (and i even shut down my turret so it didnt contribute to friendly fire)

I am happy to confirm this also unlocks in point defence on Intense difficulty. I did not even know this was possible until it popped unexpected. I loaded up a level with randoms and it was hectic as hell, we won, somehow nobody shot each other and the achievement popped the moment it ended. I have no idea if it also applies to horde or restock turrets but it unlocked for myself and another random during the same session so it wasn't just a glitch for me, we both got it.
How I did it.
1. Point Defence.
2. Intense difficulty.
3. I ran a recon (class is irrelivent)
4. Through the power of prayer somehow nobody shot each other.
5. Boom.
Obviously this is not a proper guide more of an awareness raiser for a very difficult achievement in mission mode. I've played intense many times and never gotten the job done so it's comforting to know that it can be done in at least one other mode. Potentially more, hopefully. Please comment below if this worked for you too it would be most welcome.
