How to unlock the Ready For Anything achievement in Alpha Protocol - Definitive Guide

Spoiler Alert all through this solution:

Ready for anything is most likely the most time consuming and difficult one to get; if you miss it on your first playhtrough. Reason is that unless you traverse the hubs and missions in a particular order, you will have missed too many pieces of intel before the last mission. Note that going for this achievement on the first run will void several other achievements you have to figure out for the next playthroughs. I didn't get this until the third playthrough, while figuring out where every little piece of intel was, and thus got it fairly early. Popped up roughly after Moscow was complete, Rome almost complete, and Taipei was barerly started.

Also note that the achievement tracks ONLY the intel you buy from the clearinghouse, and has nil to do with dossiers unlocked through conversations or found in missions.

Saudi Arabia:
- Find Nasri first, and make sure to arrest him. This will unlock at least 2 other intels in Saudi-Arabia, one in Rome. Total intels in this hub is 12. Make sure you get them before moving on.
- Ally with and don't execute Shaheed. This will unlock atleast one more intel in Rome.

Taipei:
- Meet with Heck and Hong first; in that order, and befriend them both (as much as possible). This will give you at least 3 more intels available in the NSB data retrieval, and the intercept assassin missions, as well as another intel in Moscow near the end.

Moscow:
- Meet and befriend Grigori first as he provides intel and items directly to the clearinghouse.
- Ally/befriend G22 and Albatross, meaning don't kill Sis, and choose Albatross for your handler when possible. This will give you at least two more intel in Moscow, and one ekstra intel in Taipei.
- Befriending SIE will give you a bonus intel in Rome during the last mission.
- Make sure to befriend and ally with Surkov or you won't get the final mission in Moscow, voiding you of 3 intels.

Rome:
- If you keep track of your dossier completion on Al-Samad, and do not max it, the last one is available to buy before Investigating the Ruins. If you have 100% it won't show up.

I should assume since you're looking this up that you're prepared for spoilers, but should you not be -- thar be spoilers ahead. Nothing that reveals the entire plot of the game's critical events or anything, but missions, locations, and some characters will be revealed.

In short, this achievement is simple -- check the Clearing House after every mission for new intel to buy. It seems that you need to have purchased a total of 56 of the 63 available pieces of intel to net this achievement, which pretty much comes down to finishing two story hubs and starting the third.

This is the path I used to attempt this achievement. Locations are listed in the order I visited them.

Saudi Arabia:
There are 9 pieces of intel originally available for purchase, so scoop them all up as soon as you get off the horn with Westridge. Intercept Nasri first and arrest him, and there will be one more piece of intel available when you get back to the safehouse. Bug the airfield next, and when you return from the mission you will be told that Shaheed has been located, and two more pieces of intel are available. I completed the weapons stockpile next, but no new intel appeared. You should have picked up 12 total pieces before going after Shaheed, the final mission in the Saudi Arabia arc. I spared Shaheed for later.

Taipei:
5 pieces of intel are originally available for purchase here, so grab them before you do anything else. I first met with Heck; use cn_Y responses for the first two branches, and cn_X for the rest. Thorton will spew all kinds of bullshit, but you'll end up +6 reputation with Heck and he makes 3 pieces of intel coalesce when you return to the safehouse. I met with Hong Shi next; use all cn_B responses and you'll have a +1 reputation with him, and he summons 4 intel pieces from the aether for you. I received no intel for assaulting the slums or infiltrating the warehouse. I infiltrated the hotel at this point, erased Heck's data, and had 3 new intel waiting for me at the end. Intercepting the NSB data in the subway station yielded no new intel. After meeting with Sung, the final mission in the Taipei arc unlocks and brings 4 pieces of new intel with it, making the total for the Taipei arc 19.

Moscow:
Immediately upon arriving, you have 6 pieces of intel available you should snatch up. The first thing I did was visit Grigori, and used all cn_X responses when talking to him for no reputation change and one extra intel. After assaulting Lazo's yacht and sparing Sis, I found 4 more intel at the end of the mission. I then immediately went out and contacted Albatross; I used all cn_X answers with Sis and cn_B answers with Albatross, accepted his proposal, then stumbled upon 2 more intel pieces. I received no extra intel after assaulting the weapon shipment at the trainyard or after intercepting Surkov at the embassy. When I met Surkov at his office, I used all cn_B responses again for a total reputation of +2 and 4 new intel pieces. When I assaulted Brayko's mansion, I used the veteran option to get both the Halbech data and save my handler (which was Albatross), did not execute Brayko, and found the final 3 intel pieces in the safehouse afterward, for a total of 20 in the Moscow arc.

Rome:
4 intel pieces are available right off the bat, so collect these once Mina is done yapping. Bugging the listening post yielded no new intel, though visiting Jibril Al-Bara, and aborting the mission rather than shooting him, yielded one new piece.

At this point, the achievement should unlock. Should you be doing a playthrough just for this achievement, you can just quit here. What follows is a very brief rundown of how I finished Rome and the intel I encountered for posterity.

NSA gelato shop -- all cn_B responses, leaving without incident, no new intel
Meet Jibril Al-Bara -- all cn_B responses, +8 reputation, 1 new intel
Contact Madison St James -- all cn_B responses, +1 reputation, 2 new intel
Marburg's villa -- All cn_B responses, 3 new intel
Investigate warehouse -- No new intel
Investigate ruins -- Final mission unlocks, 1 new intel
Total intel for Rome arc: 12

This achievement is very confusing, as this does NOT pertain to obtaining dossier information. Instead, this achievement is for buying nearly all of the Intel in the game through the Clearinghouse. From the very beginning of the game, make sure that you always buy all of the Intel right away whenever you get a new mission.

Certain decisions in the game lead to more Intel being available depending on how you handled certain situations, or depending on the order in which you go through the game. Certain things, like arresting Nasiri, befriending Steven Heck before fighting Brayko, befriending SIE or Albatross before the Embassy mission, gaining the respect of Steven Heck, Hong Shi, and Albatross during the Taipei missions, and even more will give you more intel per mission.

You'll know you're getting close to this achievement if you unlock the perk "Be Prepared".

The description is misleading. This trophy is awarded for purchasing 75% of the total mission intel available from the Clearinghouse. The problem is that the availability of mission intel varies depending on your actions and reputation with certain characters throughout the game, potentially making this trophy impossible to get on certain playthroughs.

By choosing to "Arrest" Nasri rather than "Execute" or "Extort" him, several additional pieces of intel will be available in Saudi Arabia. Having SIE or Albatross as an ally and completing all previous missions will unlock additional intel for the Embassy raid. Befriending Heck before dealing with Brayko will yield unusual results. Sparing Brayko or Rescuing Surkov will yield additional intel for the "Investigate Delivery at Warehouse" mission. If you allied with SIE in Moscow, she happliy provides intel on Marburg for the "Intercept Marburg at the Museum of Art" mission. High reputation with Hong Shi, Steven Heck and Albatross can provide additional intel for several Taipei missions as well. To let you know if you're getting close, at 50% you will unlock the "Be Prepared" perk.

To get this trophy, you need to buy all available "intel" before each mission. It is worth noting that it has nothing to do with obtaining a dossier. To open some Intels, certain conditions must be met. Here are some of them:
1) While playing through the game, try to maintain a good relationship with everyone and not kill anyone.
2) In Saudi Arabia, first complete the mission "Find Nasri the Arms Dealer". Nasri cannot be killed or released; in order to receive intels, he must be arrested.
3) In Saudi Arabia, during the mission "Intercept Shaheed and Recover Missiles" you need to release Shaheed.
4) After Saudi Arabia, first fly to Moscow and immediately need to meet with Grigori. When talking to him, use mostly .
5) After meeting Grigori, fly to Tai Pei and visit Stephen Heck.
6) Fly back to Moscow. To complete the mission "Intercept Surkov at US Embassy" you need to take Albatross with you.
7) In Tai Pei you need to have a good relationship with Hong Shi.

If all of the above conditions are met, then at the end of the third city you will receive a trophy.

On the first playthrough, I completed the dossier by 89%, but the trophy did not drop. I missed Parker’s mission at the very beginning (training), who asks to bring data from the medical unit and refused to remove the bugs from Albatross . During the second playthrough, taking into account Parker’s mission and hiding one bug from Albatross, the trophy dropped in the middle of the 3rd chapter.

Do not disdain training tasks at the very beginning of the game - part of the dossier is already torn off there.
I did not fly from Gregory to Heck, but simply walked in order: Moscow-Rome-Taipei. But in every city it is better to start with a local informant.
At Braiko’s dacha, it’s better to save Albatross, and then in Taipei, in the warehouse mission, when we infiltrate his computer network, at the end of the level we bluff and say that we will delete the program (yup, at 5/6). This will open up another part of the dossier. Well, rummage through all the corners/crooks/safes on all levels. Almost all dossiers are completed 100%.

I was given the trophy when it was 79%.

By the way, they write that if you read the dossier during the game, the dialogue threads become more variable, opening up access to new intelligence. But this is difficult to assess.
