How to unlock the Never Trust A Sociopath achievement in Alpha Protocol - Definitive Guide

For this achievement you need to get Steven Heck to hate you. The key to the achievement is to get him to sell you out at the end of the Taiwan missions. You'll also need to get SIE and Albatross to ally with you in Moscow according to CommanderDrizzle, this is crucial.
When you first enter Taiwan visit Hong Shi or do a mission first, this will give a -1 Steven Heck. During the conversation choose the following choices
1. Either besides helpful (0)
2. Admire (+2), other choices (0)
3. Honest (-1)
4. Threaten (-1)
5. Impatient (-1)
6. Threatening (-1)
7. All (0)
Then at the hotel mission for his plan go with "no casualties" to get -1 and then do not delete files for him. Before the Stop Omen Deng mission be professional (-1, then +1). When he sends you a really long message or a message about two girls go with the aggressive choice (both -1). Sometimes if you do not check the gift he sends you (he might not send it) you get -1. After the Stop Omen Deng mission none of the choices matter he tell you that he sold you out and achievement unlocked.

You only need SIE OR Albatross, not both. It seems that the major trigger is to not delete Heck's file.

I acquired this on the same run as Judge, Jury and Executioner, and I killed Albatross in Moscow and was still able to get this achievement. FWIW I responded with "Aggressive" stance to every response w/ Heck in his final vidcon call at the end of the Taipei missions and had -9 rep w/ him.

Heck is the fallback handler for the endgame mission when you attack Alpha Protocol. Even if you've completely maxed out negative reputation at -10, Heck will not sell you out at the end of the Taipei arc if you aren't on good terms with Albatross or SIE from Moscow (or haven't met them yet). On one of my playthroughs, I followed this through to the letter but did not have a good enough reputation with SIE or Albatross at the end of the Moscow arc, so the game would not let Heck sell me out because he is the only remaining handler for the endgame.

everything x HeroBlade x said is correct, except you only have to have up to a -4 (or higher) inorder for him to hate you... but what you need to do first is go to Moscow and finish all the missions.

while in moscow you have to make sure that you meet with SIE and get on her good side and do the same with Albatros. Ones you get to the mission to kill Boyker (forgot his name) you have to be sure to save your ally... after that is complete then you can beat taiwan missions and at the end he will sell you out.

same here: I was doing my Hard (and JJ&E) run and ignored SIE, Killed Albatros and ended up with Heck at -9 and he still didn't betray me because he was the only handler... grrrr... how annoying. I'm on my last run now (easy) to get this one done (along with the other three I still need)

I second Th3 Replicant's comment. I did the exact same thing, had the same -9 Animosity rating, and he still ended up liking me. Looks like I have a seventh playthrough in my future!

I just got this one after meeting SIE and killing Albatros. (Hoping meeting SIE doesn't screw me for JJ&E.)

After finishing in Saudi Arabia, don't do Taipei missions right away -- go to Moscow first. Make sure either SIE or Albatross likes you. When you start doing missions in Taipei, DON'T visit Heck right away. Do a different mission before going to see him; this will anger him and help alienate him.

When you meet Steven Heck, you'll quickly realize that he's... quirky. As such, he likes casual/joking conversation (pressing X during dialogue) and sometimes aggressive conversation (pressing Y). Professional responses and threatening responses are best to press his buttons.

Sooner or later he'll send you an e-mail with some conspiracy theories (or, others have mentioned, you might get one where he brags about a sexual conquest) -- just use an aggressive response, and your task should be complete. At the end of the Taipei missions, he'll sell you out. Boom, achievement!

For this achievement, you must have Heck sell you out to Hellbach at the end of the Taipei missions. The way you go about this is by making sure he doesn't like you, which isn't too hard. One of the first missions you have in Taipei is to actually meet up with Heck, but make sure you don't do that right away. Instead, do another mission before finally meeting up with him, and right away you'll lose one like point with him. Afterwords, just stick with mainly professional responses. Due to Heck's colorful "personality", Suave responses pleases him to no end, and Aggressive will every so often please him.

During the mission "Retrieve NSB Data from Grand Hotel", Heck will ask you to delete some data on him. Don't do it, and just finish the mission. Also, at some point or another, he will email you about his conspiracy theory. After reading through all of it, just give him an Aggressive response, and you should lose quite a bit of like points for both actions. If you've done everything correctly, after defeating Omen Deng, the achievement should unlock shortly after.

NOTE: Make sure that if you plan on going for this achievement, that you do NOT do Taipei first. Due to the way the game handles the final mission, doing Taipei as your first location ensures that no matter how much you piss off Heck, he will not betray you. Make sure you either do Moscow, Rome, or both before getting around to Taipei. Also, make sure that either Albatross and SIE like you enough to be your handler.

Steven Heck is a little nuts, but if you piss him off, he's downright scary. When you start to complete missions in Taipei, do all other available missions before going to contact Steve. In your first meeting choose Professional four times, then Aggressive for the fifth and sixth response. In Grand Hotel Mission briefing use Professional choices, warn against killing civillians and do not destroy Heck's file. When you receive his mail, don't respond to it right away, but hang on to it for emergencies. You should still be able to get down to -10 before starting the "Intercept Assassination Plans" mission, which is good because you'll win a point back just for including him in the carnage. After the mission is over you can respond to the email in order to bring you back down to -10.

You won't get the trophy until you have completed "Stop Omen Deng at Memorial Rally" during the news report. Heck will contact you and you and if he still hates you enough, he will tell you that he gave your name to the cops. The trophy will pop just in time to hear the newscasters call you out by name.

NOTE: Heck will not turn you in if he is the only available handler for the "Infiltrate Alpha Protocol" mission. So ensure that you have not alienated/killed both SIE and Albatross, so that one of them will be available to replace Heck. If you complete all of the Taipei missions first, Heck will not turn on you to prevent the possibility of having no viable handlers for the final mission.
