How to unlock the Pistol Mastery achievement in Alpha Protocol - Definitive Guide

A Critical Hit occurs when you hold LT to aim at a target, the reticle darkens, the crosshairs fully "lock in", then you successfully fire and hit the target. It does not have to be a headshot.

An easy place to get this done is at Marburg's Villa where you will face some enemies with an endurance bar in addition to their health bar in the game room. Kill all but one of the enemies making sure to leave one with the endurance bar, preferably one with an SMG/AR as the guys with a shotgun will attempt to close in on you.

Once you are left with the last enemy, run around and take cover behind one of the gaming tables at the far side of the room and see if the enemy will go behind a table across from you. You can now lean out and aim for their feet under the table taking at least 2-3 shots at their feet waiting each time for the Critical Hit reticule and then waiting for their endurance bar to regenerate.

You can very easily get to 100 critical hits this way with ammo being the limiting factor. I did it on easy, but should work on hard as well.

I know this is super old, but no one seems to have mentioned anywhere that hits from the Pistol skill "Chain Shot" count toward this achievement. My achievement popped when I used it on a guy. Much easier than waiting for the reticle to turn red.

When you zoom in on an enemy with the pistol, the reticle will start to turn red and create a cross-hair with little dots. Once the dots stop moving, pull the trigger, and you'll (hopefully) hit the enemy. Just do this 100 times across a single playthrough, and the achievement is yours.

Critical hits are when you aim at the head of an enemy, as the reticle starts to turn red, and when it is fully focused on the enemy, shoot. It is powerful enough to kill instantly. You must hit enemies with these critical shots 100 times.

For all the weapon achievements, you do not need any points invested into it's respective skill. The only thing that matters for these achievements is that your aim is right, and that you do exactly what you need to for each respective weapon. You don't even need to kill your enemies to fulfill the requirements for each achievement.

In order to score critical hits with the pistol, whenever you have the aiming reticule on an enemy, it will slowly being to change from yellow to red. During this time, your crosshair's will begin to tighten up, allowing one precision shot. Make sure that you are zoomed in, which you can do by holding . Moving in any way will reset this entire process, so try not to if possible. Hitting anyone after your crosshairs are completely red will automatically deliver a critical hit. Having the Chain Shot skill from the Pistol tree is an automatic critical hit for every shot, so use it often.

Also, if you die, any progress you have made towards these achievements will be lost. Your progress will not carry over, so be careful! Any progress towards this achievement will also not carry over into other playthroughs, so you need to get all the hits before you finish the game.

You will unlock the perk "Pistol Proficiency" after scoring fifty critical hits with the pistol.

While holding the button to aim at an enemy with a pistol, your reticle will slowly turn red. Once the sights converge on the target and stop, fire with to score a critical hit. After 100 critical hits, the trophy will unlock. Along the way you will unlock the "Pistol Proficiency" perk at 25 critical hits, letting you know that you're doing it properly.

To inflict critical damage from a pistol, you need to do the following: keep your sights on the enemy for a while, and when the red lines in the center of the sight converge, shoot. No matter where you hit, it is important to complete the shooting process to the end. And so 100 times.
