I was Level 76 on Alan. Went in on easy difficulty. I just pressed RB to auto both fights with the butler, and won within seconds. Level 99 definitely not required.

Had to beat the last fight twice to get the achievement, as Bulter gets stronger after beating him once.

Same point as Xelliz, please add that you have to beat him twice to the solution. I panicked when I didn't unlock it the first time. I also beat this at level 67 so 99 is definitely not required.

Dude it requires 1.2m gold for the last fight alone because you need to fight him twice...

Hey everyone, just a quick video explaining the arena and some tips for the young butler fight. Biggest thing is to watch the level requirements, as you can usually complete them a bit earlier than what they say. Hope the video helps!

Just in case anybody else is now playing this becasue it dropped on Gamepass - just as a heads up, you only need to beat the turbo butler on Easy mode and get the Bronze medal to get this achievement, meaning I easily thrashed him at level 91 with Alan. ALSO, please, save yourself some time levelling up. I spent ages grinding in the fairy dungeon, but it turns out in (Kohze pass - spelling?), a new area opens up in the cave which has skeletons which award 45,000+ exp per battle. Combine this with the XP doubler from the ALP store to get XP crazy fast. For some reason I could not find this info when googling Alvastia Chronicles Fast levelling. In addition to this, make sure to make use on LB and RB in battle to set the speed to X3 and then auto battle. Make sure you change the tactics for each of your characters to spam skills so you can just press RB and win battles immediately when grinding levels.

Another quick XP method which can be done as soon as you get the boat, though this is quite random you can attempt to fight on some of the small outlying islands around the map that contain only silver monsters. At the bottom left of the map is a small island with a few trees on it, this seems to be one of the silver islands but on this one you can encounter monsters that will give about 33k-50k XP without the boosters (150k+ with 3).. The issue lies in the fact they flee quite fast, so it's best to wear the armour that returns damage if physically hit, while also having Gil cast lightning. Before casting lightning, have a character also in Gil's party that can use a skill to guaranty a critical hit. This will of coarse cost a turn in which all or some of the monsters might flee, which is why you wear that armour hoping if they hit you (physically) they kill themselves as they all only have about 3-10HP but you'll hardly hit them with their speed being so high, hence the crit guaranty skill.

Keep in mind grinding XP early means you're less likely to get enough hope stones / AP to actually max chars / buy proper items for boosting.

I did the 3 battles in Helianth town, and the secret area downstairs for the bandana, but I still have no achievement. Is there anything else to do, or is there a specific order? (I started with the butler fight first thinking it was the only required battle)
I had some other achievements not popping so this might just be the game saying "nope".
Also with a lvl 84 I auto battle and he died in a few seconds, so there is no need to overlevel. If you need to level up, you can purchase the armor that gives you a fight for every step (200 alp) and if you want you can also get the 3 XP boosts. The skeleton area mentioned in the first comment is perfect, you can lvl up super fast.
EDIT: I'm an idiot I didn't realised I had to fight him twice. The second time he was tougher so I had to use a burst, then heal, then finish him off with some regular attacks.

Beat him on Normal and youll get an item that adds a chance to random enemies to drop 3 hope stones at a time, Troy (last thieves guild member) has a attack that does 9 hits for massive damage almost killing him on normal in a single hit

The secret battle arena can be found in a cave inside Helianth Town. The final difficulty of this has a suggested level of 99, and requires 600k gold to enter. You will get a generous amount of gold and experience from enemies on most of the game's islands, particularly the two mentioned in this thread.

Once you complete all three lanes of the arena, you need to challenge the third lane's boss a second time to get his true form and actually unlock the achievement. I was able to do this on Easy at Level 73, so you don't need to grind up to 99 like the suggestion. Just make sure to use all your most powerful skills, and delay his turns if possible to get a ton of damage in before he can even do anything. See "Combo Pro" for tips on delaying enemies.

The secret battle arena is located in a cave inside of another cave in western Helianth Town.  You don't actually have to do all three lanes, just the lane on the far right.  You will need to defeat that boss twice, however.  Hit him with the strongest attacks you have.  If you go into each fight at Level 99 and a full Burst Meter, it's quite likely you'll take the boss out before he gets a shot off on you.

Do not attempt the secret battle arena before you are at least Level 90 or the boss will wipe the floor with you.  Personally, I don't recommend trying it until you reach the level cap (99).  You can get XP boosters in the ALP store for 700 ALP each; you should have been gaining ALP in bits from battles all throughout the game, provided they didn't auto-complete, so should be able to afford at least one (you can buy up to three).  Two good levelling up locations are listed in the Tips and Tricks section of the Roadmap.

Located in the city of Helianth. There are three “tracks” with a fairly high entry level and requiring an impressive amount of money for participation. I did all three at level 72-75, despite the recommendation at lvl 99 for the last match.
The achievement was given after I completed the first two battles once and twice the third, against the Butler. In most cases, despite my “low” level, the mobs had almost nothing to do.
