After the plane crash, exit the plane through the door near the front (the handle should be on the floor nearby). Then follow the fairly obvoius path through the desert before reaching a cave with stone doors. Upon entering the cave, this will unlock.

This will unlock once you've completed the chapter The Cassandra and entered the Cave after navigating through the desert at the beginning of the game. This is a "point A to point B" chapter and does not have any puzzles in it.
For collectible purposes, there are 2 Hank Notes you need to pick up in this chapter for Crewmember , and ~1 regular note you can read for Archivist . Please see the Collectible Guide for more detailed instructions on where to find these.
