Massive Tip - Turn Gamma to max!
Quick guide - No collectibles
Exiting the door from the previous area and previous achievement Widow, you will be in a desert type of biome now, free from the caves! Follow the obvious sandy path around and up some stone steps. Continue on and just enjoy the sights and scenery.
Drop down from the ledge when prompted to crouch and drop down to avoid damage, follow the path up to the right and right again towards the wooden shack. Interact and break off the two wooden planks on the side of the shack to gain entry and crouch under. Turn the red wheel to lift up the locking mechanism on the outside and exit when you came in. Walk around the shack and open the wooden gate you've just opened.
Head up the hill and towards the left side you will see some stone steps to go up. Finally you will reach the fort at the top to your right. Head through the big brown wooden doors to take refuge in the fort!
The achievement should pop straight after the game has loaded. (After pressing A at the loading screen)

This will unlock once you've complete the chapter The Desert Path and have entered the Fortress.
For collectible purposes, there is 1 Hank Note you need to pick up in this chapter for Crewmember , and ~1 regular note you can read for Archivist . Please see the Collectible Guide for more detailed instructions on where to find these.
This is for the most part another Point A to Point B chapter save for one part. There is a large wooden gate you'll come to towards the end of the chapter. To get through it, there is a hut just to the right of it. On the right side of the hut are some planks that you can remove. Crawl into the hut and inside will be a valve you can turn to raise a bar up from behind the gate door. Crawl back out of the hut and go through the gate door to progress. The Fortress will be just up the hill.
