How to unlock the Roastmaster achievement in Amnesia: The Bunker - Definitive Guide

By getting this one, you can also get "Flint and Steel" "Arsonist" and "Pit Master"

Basically you start off by getting the lighter, by finding Stafford's dogtag in the bunker. With that, you can either use the gas and lighter to burn the bodies, or make petrol bombs to throw at all of them.

There is some debate as to the total number of bodies, but the rule of thumb is if the body turns from a normal model to a charred model, this body counts. Its randomized which bodies will be burnable on each playthrough, so here are ALL POSSIBLE LOCATIONS for body locations that might be burned. I was thorough, so here we go.

5 in the Central Bunker & Officer Quarters, 7 in Maintenance, 2 in Arsenal, and 2 in Soldier's Quarters.

Check the comments in the video if you want the direct timestamps and map for each part of the bunker :)

For me, this felt very specific about which bodies to burn. My assumption after unlocking this is you need to burn all the bodies which the rats can eat.

For some bodies, it was not guaranteed there would always be a rat there. For example, in the top left prison cell is a body pinned to the wall. Only once did I see a rat there on all my visits.

Watch for the graphical changes - I assume the eligible bodies for the achievements are the ones whose texture changes and become sort of pixelated as soon as fire touches them. There were several bodies I tried to burn and had no change and I assume didn’t contribute towards the counter (e.g. the guy in the pillbox sniper tower, the prisoner who was alive in the cell).

Here’s all the bodies I burned. I exclusively used a Fuel Bottle and set alight with the lighter. I raided the Wine Cellar for bottles (Officers Quarters) and filled them using the tank in Fuel Storage room (Maintenance).

My final tally on the completion screen was 12.

Central Bunker
1. Generator Room
2. Mission Storage

Officer Quarters
3. Delisle Room
4. Outside the Wine Cellar
5. Outside Foreman’s Quarters (bottom of the steps leading up)
6. Break Room

Prison
7. Cells (top left, pinned to wall)

Soldier Quarters
8. Barracks A
9. Kitchen (in hallway)

Arsenal
10. Storage Area A
11. Munitions Storage (already burned but not sure if I triggered a trap)

Maintenance
12. In the Rat Tunnel (3x bodies)

The others I burned which I don’t think count as they didn’t change textures:
- Pillbox sniper tower (Maintenance)
- Prisoner in Cells (the one who was alive) (Prison)
- Changing Room (Maintenance)
- Foreman’s Quarters (on the bed) (Maintenance)

The Guy in the Pillbox sniper tower counts and he also changes textures. But it dependent on the game as it RNG on which bodies can burn or not. Because the game can spawn more or less bodies each time you play the game.

In order to burn bodies, you will first need the Lighter, which is found inside A Giraud’s locker. With the Lighter, you can either pour fuel on a body and burn it with a torch (this will hurt you), or light and throw petrol bombs to burn them. You can burn any body that you collect a Dog Tag from, so there are quite a few to burn. You will need to burn 12 bodies to unlock this.
Upon completing the game you will see a statistic for how many bodies you have burned, so you can always make a save and then complete the game to see how many you have burned.

You can basically get unlimited molotovs / fuel bottles if you stock up with empty bottles and fill them all up in the Fuel Storage

This appears to be unobtainable on Xbox One as of now. I've cleared the entire bunker looking for bodies to burn, and there are ten you should be able to burn. 12 are needed for the achievement, but the remaining bodies are in the rat tunnel, the pillbox and the chapel, and none of those lit up for me on the Xbox One. I decided to try on the cloud (which is essentially the Series X) and got it after burning two corpses in the tunnel, both of which lit up on the first try. The body in the locked maintenance room (which you need to shoot the lock or remove a vent to access) and the one in the mission storage room took me a couple of tries to get burning as well. Had to pour the gas twice on each before it burnt.

I tried to burn the same corpse, the number increased, but the achievement did not fall. Is it so conceived or are different corpses needed?

You need to burn 12 bodies to get this trophy/achievement (I play the game on Steam and I got the achievement there, that's why it is locked here)

You can burn them with either petrol bombs (aka molotov cocktails) or by pouring fuel on them then lighting them with the flint (lighter).

Anywhere you find a dog tag there is a dead body.

To burn corpses, you will need a lighter, which can be found in A. Giro's locker. You can either pour fuel on the body and burn it with a torch, or craft a Molotov cocktail from a bottle + rag + canister of gasoline. You can burn any corpses next to which there will be soldier tokens. You need to burn 12 corpses. At the end of the game, statistics will be displayed on how many corpses have been burned, so you can always load the last autosave and finish off the remaining number.

In the custom mode, set the appearance of bodies with rats to high.
