Wow. How hard would it have been to start a new game and included the actual drawings?

Funny you should mention that. This was done on a new game and the collectibles werent showing up. Guess they carried over to the new game. Regardless, I still show you where the collectibles are. All you have to do is follow the direction shown and you should see the collectible.
