This one didn't unlock for me either but I did get The One-win wonder achievement after winning the match. I tried starting a different match with my back up and main accounts and neither worked.

This should unlock after you begin a match against another player. The player then accepts the battle and once one turn has passed it unlocks. That's what it did for me. I began about 10 battles and it never unlocked until one was actually started and played.

I had difficulty with this one popping initially. Just sending a battle does not appear to work.

I got this to pop by sending my silver account a battle, switching profiles to the silver account and taking it's turn, then switching back to my profile and taking my turn.
I think you actually have to play a turn to get this.

I can confirm that after setting up the match, you need to play a turn for this to pop.
