How to unlock the Arms Merchant achievement in Anthem - Definitive Guide

Just as with the Weapon Challenges the gear challenges for each javelin are also quite similar. All you have to do is play a total of 4 missions or world events with specific abilities equipped on your Ranger javelin.

You can track your progress by pressing cn_back, then browse to Challenges -> Gear -> Ranger. Select the ability you want to track and hit cn_X.

The 12 Ranger gear challenges required for this achievement are:

Bulwark Point I
Venom Darts I
Seeker Grenades I
Frost Grenade I
Blast Missile I
Frag Grenade I
Inferno Grenade I
Muster Point I
Pulse Blast I
Seeking Missile I
Spark Beam I
Sticky Grenade I

The abilities drop in the world or in any mission, but only if you have the correct javelin equipped while you look for them. This isn't as bad as it looks as missions are completed in 10 minutes and you can equip 3 abilities at the same time.

The fastest way to level these up would be to go to Freeplay with coop partners. Take off in different directions and let each other know when you found a world event, then join up. World events can be completed in under 5 minutes and will count toward the challenge. They can easily be done solo as well (set the difficulty to easy if you have to) but can sometimes be a bit hard to find.

If you're doing this solo then I recommend combining this with the Explorer achievements for maximized efficiency. laugh

This should work with any color quality. For me it did, anyway.

You have to equip the white (normal) versions of these items, AFAIK. I had an epic version and it didn't count. Once I equipped the lesser version, it ticked off. I need a normal inferno grenade and I'm done with this.

The inferno grenade is not even on the challenge list and that’s the only one that I need to complete this I think it’s glitched. If anyone else is having this problem let me know

I got a masterwork version of searching glaive and finished that one up with it. LLboxed is correct. Also, idk if it matters or not, but I wasn't getting many abilities on grandmaster difficulties, but started running "easy" missions through quick play and they started dropping more frequently. could just be coincidence...

The Gear I Challenges themselves are pretty straight forward.
Equip Gear for the respective Challenge and complete:

4 Missions or
4 Contracts or
4 Strongholds or
4 World Events in Freeplay (quickest option IMO)

Press cn_back browse to Challenges >> Gear >> Ranger and check your progress.

The problem with this Achievement is the high RNG factor. You can obtain Gear as random drops after killing enemies or opening chests - you have no possibility to influence anything here.
I had to grind for a whole week the daily Legendary Missions/Legendary Contracts as well as the normal Contracts (Freelancer/Sentinel/Arcanist) to finally acquire Sticky Grenades which was the only Gear that was missing for me to complete the Ranger Gear I Challenges. Very annyoing!

You will curse the game.
You will think the game is even more bugged.
You will think that the Gear you need does not exist.
Grit your teeth and just hang in there! If I can unlock this Achievment - then you can do it as well!

Additionally, you have the option to buy Weapons and Gear for 2000 Gold each in the Regulator Store every week. But again, it's bare RNG that you can't influence.

Therefore I can only give the following tips:
Visit the Regulator Store once a week.
Play all Missions/Contracts/Strongholds/Freeplay on Difficulty "NORMAL" because the rarity is not decisive for the Achievement. The main thing is that you have it equipped for your Javelin!

To unlock the Arms Merchant trophy in Anthem, you will need to complete 12 of the Ranger Gear challenges which can be found by opening the Menu > Challenges > Gear > Ranger

You will find 13 challenges available -- one for completing four matches or open world events with a specific piece of gear equipped, and a final one for completing all 12 of the Ranger challenges.

You pick up the gear as random mission rewards and from dead enemies. You can add two weapon gear and one support gear at once at the Forge. Once you have completed four missions with one set, head to the Forge and equip the next set to continue making progress towards the trophy.

Bulwark Point I: Completed 4 Missions or World Events with this gear equipped
Frag Grenade I: Completed 4 Missions or World Events with this gear equipped
Seeking Missile I: Completed 4 Missions or World Events with this gear equipped
Blast Missile I: Completed 4 Missions or World Events with this gear equipped
Frost Grenade I: Completed 4 Missions or World Events with this gear equipped
Inferno Grenade I: Completed 4 Missions or World Events with this gear equipped
Muster Point I: Completed 4 Missions or World Events with this gear equipped

The Ranger is one of the four javelin types in the game. You will unlock javelins at Levels 2, 8, 16, and 28.

Javelin challenges task you with completing four missions or world events with a specific item equipped. You can equip up to three items from the list below at the same time, though only two go in the support slot, meaning you need a minimum of 20 missions to do four missions with each item. You do not begin the game with one of each type, so be sure to complete some events to get chests and return to the Fort to get the loot after completing a few challenges, then swap for new items and head back out.

For the Ranger, complete challenges for the following items: Bulwark Point, Frag Grenade, Seeking Missile, Blast Missile, Frost Grenade, Inferno Grenade, Muster Point, Pulse Blast, Seeker Grenades, Spark Beam, Sticky Grenade, and Venom Darts.

Each Grenade, Assault Launcher, and Support Gear that you loot have a base challenge for using them in four missions or world events. These are random loot drops and could take a little bit to acquire all 12. The most efficient way is to equip what you can and fly around doing world events. It's much faster than four missions.

We complete four contracts, missions, story missions, or in a free game of world events (something like events that randomly appear on the map) by wearing

in the category assault launcher:
- energy beam,
- poison darts,
- impulse explosion,
- sniffer rocket,
- explosive rocket;

in the grenade category:
- sniffer grenades,
- fragmentation grenade,
- ice grenade,
- inferno grenade,
- sticky grenade;

in the support gear category:
- fortified point,
- gathering place;

Challenge in progress - Ranger Gear Master I.

Important:
1) fortresses do not count,
2) trophies related to tests for equipment and weapons may potentially become unattainable (my light machine guns are bugged), we are waiting for a patch

The fastest way to farm is to go into a quick game (random game), very often it ends up in the middle or end of missions, where we save time

This particular trophy was bugged; when completing the last mission, all the tests were counted and the achievement did not appear.

The fortress does count, there are a couple of separate ones where you need to complete a mission or a world event, but there the fortress does not count. I also noticed that if you go through a seasonal event (where the fortress is) it immediately counts as 4/4

Addition to the previous tip. The number of missions counted is the number of people present in the party. If 4, then 4 missions will be counted. If there are only 2, then 2 missions will be counted.
And if you are dragged into a solo, then you, like me, have absolutely nothing to do.

Achievements can be tracked!
Options - Challenges - Equipment - your javelin.
For this weapon there are items with the number 4 - these are the 4 missions for each weapon.
Once you finish everything, the trophy is yours.
For some of these weapons you will need to choose difficulty and complete the fortress!
Read the description for it!
