How to unlock the Rare Talent achievement in Anthem - Definitive Guide

You need to raise your gear level to 285, that's when your javelin logo turns blue on the upper right screen when accessing the armory.

This is a standard progression achievement and not missable.

Except when it doesn't unlock...I have two classes at gear level 300 (nearly into epic) and have done two dozen contracts, strongholds, etc. I'm level 23 and this one just will not unlock for me.

The final campaign mission one also won't unlock for me.

Currently, you must have level 260.

285 pushed me from uncommon to rare.

285 also pushed me to rare as of 02/23/2020 doing strong holds does not seem to trigger the achievment to unlock but a regular misson will.

To unlock the Rare Talent trophy in Anthem, you will need to increase the Gear Score of one of your Javelin's until it reaches the Rare (blue) level. The Gear Score required is 240. Simply equipping rare items in your five slots is not enough. The overall Javelin's level must be Rare.

The gear score is an average of all of your gear. The higher the score, the higher the rarity. Once you have reached the Rare level with a Javelin, complete a mission, contract, or stronghold and the trophy will unlock at the end.

Mine went from green to blue when I went from 285 to 286.. Seems to be some changing goalposts here.

The values changed when they updated some of the gear and allowed Legendary javelins to be a thing.

The rarity of your javelin is dependent on your gear score. To upgrade to a rare javelin, you will need a gear score of 260.
