How to unlock the Apex Legend achievement in Apex Legends - Definitive Guide

The 8 legends are Bloodhound, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Pathfinder, Wraith, Bangalore, Caustic, and Mirage.

Caustic and Mirage aren't unlocked when you first start. To unlock them, they can be bought for 750 coins each, or wait till you're level 43 and you'll have enough of those red ticket things to unlock them both.

If you have a lot of wins, you may forget which legends you have the wins for. There is an easy way to track this. Click on any legend in the main menu and under "Banners" there is a "Badge" section. If you've gotten a win with that legend, the badge "Apex ______" will be unlocked, with the blank being the name of that legend (Ex: "Apex Mirage").

Ignore badges like "Group Theatrics" and "Pack Victory", as these are earned with a win with any legend.

Going off the tracker "Wins with Full Squad" isn't reliable either, because it doesn't take into account a win with randoms. Just check for the badge to be unlocked so you aren't wasting time getting a win when you may already have it.

FYI, I think "Wins with full squad" just means you're all alive at the end. All of my wins are with randoms, and I have some "Wins with full squad."

commenting since this is super out of date, i did the game fresh this month, i won with loba, rev, crypto, as part of my 8 and still got the achievement and the 5k damage, i believe all legends count.

To echo Kenshira, I think this is with all legends. I think when the guide was written there wasn't as many as there are now.

I don’t think it counts in arena. I’ve gotten several wins with several different legends in arena and it hasn’t popped for me. Which makes me a bit sad. I was hoping that it would count.

Arena definitely doesn't work as far as a single win with 8 different characters goes, that I can say for sure.

You can get a badge for each character winning 5 arena matches with them, so maybe that could work?

I'm not certain, I haven't been able to do that yet so I cant confirm, just speculating. I don't know if the game is tracking badges to unlock (like the Apex [insert character] badge in battle royale for each one) or if it's strictly a BR based achievement.

Just got the 5 wins on 8 different legends and no achievement, even double checked my badges. Won with bloodhound, Gibraltar, lifeline, pathfinder, wraith, local, and ash. Anyone else having issues or no how to fix it.

Is this achievement still obtainable without paying? It looks like the 2 available Skirmish legends doesn't count. So that means that there are only 4 people you can achieve this with. Or am I missing something?

@Gold Rush NL had no issue getting this on march 23 2003 and i didn't spend any money on the game.. happy to discuss more if anyone thinks they have ran into a paywall issue

Can confirm what xlx EDGE xlx said, Arenas doesn't count for this --- at least on XBOX. I 100%'d this game on PS4, and on PS4, Arena wins DO count which is somewhat bizarre but there you go. Just grinded 8 Arenas Wins expecting the same result as on PS4, but no dice. Grinding Trios hoping for a squad not farming kills it is.

So there are 8 original characters with 2 of them being locked behind a paywall of sorts.

I bought Caustic using 750 of the 1000 Apex coins that were given to me for being an EA Access membership.

So there's 2 routes about getting the 2nd character unlocked:-

1.) Reach level 23 and you will get 12000 Legend Tokens, which is the cost for one of the unlocked characters.

2.) The other method is if you can't wait, is literally to splash out real money to buy Apex coins to use to buy a character for 750.

If you don't have EA access and don't want to spend real money, you will have to reach level 43 to be able to buy both Caustic and Mirage.

To keep track with which Legends you have wins with, you can go to the Legends tab at the main screen and click any Legend you want to see if you have the win or not. Once clicked on, go the "Banner" section and then to the "Badge" section, there is a badge that only unlocks if you have a win with that Legend.

May be worth noteing if you don't have the EA access currency you get enough tokens for both unlocks at around the level 44 region. (It's in that ballpark not 100% if it's exactly 44)

@Shadow2327 - I'm not entirely sure but I would assume that he would count as one of the 8 different legends for the achievement. If you have a win with him already but no wins with anyone else, just work your way to getting wins and damage with the other legends to get this achievement and the 5000 damage achievement.

Apex Legends is a Battle Royale game where 20 teams of three Legends face off to be the last squad standing, as the arena slowly shrinks. If you've played PUBG or Fortnite or any other Battle Royale variant, you'll generally know what to expect.

You will want to use a Legend (a character with specific abilities) that helps round out a team (comprised of a primary damage dealer, support/healer, and defensive character would be the best), and know where to get the best loot (see "Fully Kitted" for info on that). Once the game starts, cooperation is the most important factor. Stay as close as possible with your squad, share loot, and use the ping function () often to call out places to move, good items, and enemies.

The key to personal success is getting a good balance between close-range damage (shotguns are very important in the final rings) and mid- to long-range weapons with decent scopes (these will help you spot enemies before moving into a new location, as well as keep them away from your current location). You'll also want to be comfortable with your Legend's abilities, and remember to use them when it counts.

There are numerous tutorials available on YouTube for the game mechanics, weapons, and Legends. If you're struggling, be sure to check those out.

There are currently 9 different Legends in the game. Six of them are basic Legends while three of them are locked behind digital game currency or microtransactions. Without spending any money, you can get the 12,000 Legends Tokens when you reach Player Levels 23 and 43. It's highly recommended that you don't spend your Legend Tokens if you're only playing Free to Play. Using real money will cost you about $9.99 for a Locked Legends.

It should also be noted that if you're dead and can no longer be respawned back to life. You must stay in the match spectating your squad and when they get the game win, you'll receive credit for the win despite being dead. If you were to leave in this situation, you won't get the win or any of the XP from the match.

Below is a complete listing of all current Legends in the game. Simply get a win with 8 different Legends and the trophy will unlock:

A legend is a character. You need to win 8 matches (kill all enemies), one match for each class.

Whether you have already won a game on a particular legend can be seen in the menu: Legends -> Select a legend, for example Lifeline -> Banners -> Emblem 1-2-3 -> Predator Lifeline.
Each legend has a similar emblem.

Victories not with a full squad (two or solo) are also counted, although the statistics only show victories with a full squad.
