If the final boss is giving you trouble (killing you or becomes impossible to find)
here is a strategy I used

contains **SPOILERS**

First of all, you will need to equip yourself accordingly to make this easier on yourself and max out these items
in your inventory

Explosive Kunai (max 3)
As many of the regular Vitality healing potions and maybe
1 of the Strong Vitality potions or as many as you can buy

The Explosive Kunai are your number one priority and the health potions will be for if you get damaged by the boss or any of the many strong enemies accompanying him.

Also take the *Divinity skill *that augments your Shadow Vision to show where the enemy has just walked. This makes it much easier to find the final boss as he hides from you. I did not upgrade this to the second level because I didn't like the idea of it predicting the future path of the enemy and muddying the waters so I just took the base ability in the Skill Tree
Additionaly I would take the *Momentum Skill* base skill and the *Pure Soul Skill* and it's upgrade.

Start the mission Tsubuyaku and get to the fight area, then skip the cutscene if you've done this already. If not, watch it because it's pretty cool.

When the fight starts and you regain control of Aragami, jump up and left and shadow leap up onto the highest ledge before shadow leaping/jumping/climbing your way back up to the throne area. Here is where you can damage him the first of three times. It is always best to approach the top of the level on either of the far sides using the ledges and Shadow Leap

He will be invisable and accompanied by 2-3 other invisable ninjas who you will be able to see clearly in Shadow Vision.
YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE TSUBUYAKU IN SHADOW VISION LIKE YOU CAN A NORMAL ENEMY
Instead you will only be able to see the path he has just walked in Shadow Vision or a transleucent outline of him in normal vision. You can tell it is him sometimes though in normal bacuse you can see his long hair if you're close enough.

You only have the option to kill (X button) in a sneak attack for him, there will be no option to stun, as pointed out in other comments/guides for dealing with Tsukuryu. This is the preferred method and is best accomplished by jumping down on him from above or hanging from the ledges on either side of the level over the water, then climbing up when he isn't looking. This is not fool-proof, however; he moves around alot and will attack savagely if he sees you.

You cannot win in a toe-to-toe fight with him, striking and blocking. If you do it will be very damaging to you and is far more likely to result in you having to use up a life. If you alert him and he comes over to fight, here is the method.

SELECT THE EXPLOSIVE KUNAI AND THROW IT AT TSUBUYAKU
It will one-shot him if you are locked on and he will disappear while talking some smack.
Your new best friend's name is
Explosive Kunai now and you have enough to take him out with these alone if you max them out at the Blacksmith's Shop. However, assasinating him is still the preferred method here.

Additionally you can abuse the game mechanic of hanging off a ledge in front of him while he runs back and forth and tries to backhand you off where your'e hanging from until he "forgets" you are there according to the game and you can hit X and assasinate him. Using the *Wraith Skill* will make sure he does if you have trouble. Repeatedly tapping X in front of him should do the ledge kill even if he seems to know where you are!

Head to the bottom of the map near the door, to the top ledges you first jumped up to when the fight started, right around where you walked in to the ruins. On either the left or right side of the level there will be 1-3 invisable ninjas.

If you see 3 there is a chance one of them is actually Tsubuyaku but the same rules apply to locating him. Sometimes if you stealth kill one ninja and trigger a second assasination with Momentum you will catch him up in it!
One solo ninja means he is not on that side. jump to the opposite side platform at the bottom of the level and kill those ninjas too to try to locate him.

Sometimes he is not right there with them and is instead on the ground below. Use Shadow Vision to locate him by the fact he will have no target marker yellow triangle OR a white outline in Shadow Vision. Follow the trail that shows no enemy creating it and hopefully jump down on him and get an assassination.

IF HE FIGHTS, EXPLOSIVE KUNAI and EVADE.
-use a potion if you take damage-

IF YOU CAN'T FIND HIM, TRIGGER A PLAYER DISCOVERED BY AN ENEMY AND HE WILL SHOW UP TO FIGHT IF CLOSE BY. THEN EXPLOSIVE KUNAI HIM
-evade all other enemies and use a potion if you take damage-

Now go back to the top of the level near the throne and kill him one final time. With practice this method isn't so bad to get to the maximum level and it can be fun to merc him over and over again

WOW! Considering it's the last boss of this game, and seeing this long guide, I was like 'it'll be a long and hard fight!', and............. no.

I prepared myself just like the guide says, with health potions and Explosive Kunais, then I started the fight. I was thinking it'd be a one-on-one fight with some disturbing fellow enemies, but no, no, no, it's a 'Where's Wally?' mini-game! We just have to find the one that leaves traces but can't be seen himself, go to him by surprise, like any other enemy in the game and hit him. The more we progress, the more people there are, but after 3 hits: cutscenes, end of the game, credits...

When seeing it was done, I wondered: 'That's all? Is it just his first form? Will he transform and come back? The guide was pretty long, it can't be done in 2 minutes?!'. And yes, it was over... I had no potion used, no Kunai either...

Damn it was easy. Okay, I play on normal, maybe this guide is for advanced difficulties, but I guess the principle stays the same... What a disappointment...

Thanks for the guide anyway, thumb up for letting us know how to recognize the boss in this crowd.

Didn’t have any trouble defeating him, but your solution made speed run much quicker to get level 30. +1

I may be missing something, but the game would only let me use explosive Kunai while outside of combat. Cannot be used as a panic button any longer, just a heads up.

Story-Related, Cannot Be Missed.

Complete Chapter 9 to earn this trophy. This is the final chapter in the game and will unlock when you have completed the final boss.

The final boss in the game (Tsubuyaku) is pretty straight forward if you use stealth and attack him from above where he is on lower ground or areas below you. He has 3 stages to the fight but fortunately they are all the same as in you can still kill him using stealth once each life is removed.

The large open area you start in he is at the opposite side to where you start the fight. Be aware that once the fight starts the area is populated with enemies that will attack you once you are spotted. Ignore these and just keep to the shadows breaking line of sight. If for some reason you are spotted, just stay hidden (use height to your advantage) until they lose their aggro meters and continue to persue Tsubuyaku.

Now using your Shadow Leap

skill, navigate to the highest points in the area. There are large pillars and platforms you can leap/teleport to so once you approach Tsubuyaku a yellow pointer will be above him to highlight where he is.

Please note that he is invisible and shifts about the area he is located in so use your Shadow Vision to locate him and when ready, leap from above and when prompted press

to 'kill' him and wait until the cutscene plays out.

The next stage, he is or should be at the opposite side of the area now (where you started originally) so repeat the process as above. He has 2 lives and each successful kill, removes one of them. Once the two lives are removed (2 small dots next to his health bar) you will need to kill him a third time to end the fight and complete the game.

If done correctly and you keep the fight to as much stealth as possible you should have no issues defeating him swiftly. From this point the story and cut scenes will play out and the credits will roll.
