You don't need to get to 100k in high score mode. Just ~35k is sufficient. Try your best to get to stage 3 as that's where I was able to get my trophy. This mode is a pain as you have only 1 life, no save states and you can't pause or your forced to reset your run. So practicing the 1st and 2nd stages will definitely help you
