How to unlock the Mark high score achievement in Arcade Archives MAT MANIA EXCITING HOUR - Definitive Guide
This is one of only two skill-based trophies in the game, but unlocking one will put you inches away from unlocking the other (the "Record Score" Trophy) so long as you remember to upload your score once completed.
To make this easier on yourself, be sure and use the "Create Interrupt Save Data" feature in the Options Menu (accessed with the Touch Pad or R3 button). Every time you use it, it saves a snapshot of your progress and score. Plus, the game will auto-load that state each time you launch the game from the PS4 Main Screen.
Now, to get this Trophy, you will have to beat the CPU high score of 30,000 points. Depending on your skill level, this can be accomplished in 2-3 matches, but as long as you remember to save your progress as listed above, you should be all right.
Once you have surpassed the 30,000 score you can then lose the match if you want and enter your initials in the leaderboard screen. Immediately after your final initial, the Trophy will pop.
Also of note, whenever you set the high score, the game gives you the option to upload your score. Do it and you will unlock the other Gold Trophy, "Record Score" as mentioned above.
General Tactics:
-- Practice a game or two to understand the timing and controls
-- Hit and run with light punches and heavy kicks to wear your opponents down before attempting to grapple them
-- Don't attempt to perform more than 3 uninterrupted moves in a row, the AI will make you pay for it
-- Save your state after several successful moves, but do so from a distance to avoid an immediate attack when reloading
-- If you hear the music change, be careful: you're hurt and can be pinned if you're dropped
Finally, if you're getting the Japanese-language version of the Trophy text, it translates to:
Mark high score (90)
