The previous solution is incorrect. While it is story-related, it does not happen after the first day. It happens the day after you buy your first expansion. Then the next morning when you arrive you'll get a new message from your dad. Then this will unlock.

I bought the first expansion and got the message about expanding but no achieve. This is the 3rd achievement which has not popped for me now. Think an update broke something. EDIT: Seems it was on Xbox/MS. All 3 achieves just popped amd earlir all my games were showing as 0/1000g. All good now it seems.

OK am I missing something? Had many buggy achievements in this game but now have all unlocked but this one. Last resort is to delete my save and try again for it.

I'm in the same boat as you. Nothing seems to be working correctly. I blame the Xbox developers more so than this game. It just refuses to validate Achvmnts a lot. More so than usual after the past 3 dash updates. It did this a few years ago so xbox reintroduced a big problem.
