How to unlock the GoldGuy Jr achievement in Arcade Paradise - Definitive Guide
This is actually one of the easier game-specific achievements in Arcade Paradise. Once you've acquired the arcade game (which becomes available early on for relatively little money) you can start working on this achievement. If you're looking to raise cash as quickly as possible, you can use the Konami code on the start screen to unlock gold washing machines that always rewards maximum value for doing laundry. This does not disable achievements.
GoldGuy Jr is similar to Boulder Dash, mixed with a color-matching puzzle game. You move your guy down through levels by striking blocks with your pick-axe. You'll break as many of the same touching color of block as you hit. If a block falls on you, you'll lose your life and end the game.
For this achievement, you're looking to pick up gold pieces embedded in the blocks. You'll need to do your best to get these without getting crushed, or running out of air. Unlike arcade games of the past, though, you keep your upgrades between games, so any progress you make will carry over from game to game. This makes getting this achievement a simple matter of replaying and gathering up sufficient gold to acquire all unlocks.
I'd recommend saving up for additional oxygen, and for the extra life. This will enable you to make a few mistakes and go more out of your way to pick up additional gold pieces.
Gold is randomly included in levels, so on some runs you might get a number of pieces, and then few or even none on later attempts. Stick with it, and you'll have unlocked all the upgrades after a handful of runs.

I have all the upgrades, yet the achievement is still locked, and I'm late in the game. I'd prefer not to have to delete my save and start all over. Any suggestions are appreciated.

For anyone looking, you need 85 points to upgrade all upgrades, the upgrades aren't tiered so what you see is what you need, hope this helps for anyone looking for this specific information.
