I used anything that was fire related and had no issue, except that the achievement did not unlock!

I finished the challenge and the Scarecrow Trinket card unlocked, but no achievement unfortunately.

If you want to check if took damage during your run, pause the game and check the challenge section top RIGHT. If the challenge still shows you are good, if it's gone you got hit.

Also tre is a red X on your character when you get hit, so make sure this doesn't happen

My setup and a few tips:

I played as Ariana (ended on level 35) to make use of her shield ability (total invulnerability for 7 seconds). It turned out my setup was so strong in knockback it was hardly needed (the screen was almost always empty of visible enemies, even the invulnerable tree enemies that spawn at minute 5, 10 and 15). My second idea was to use Samael for his extra shots.

I played on Speed 1 (usually played all other maps on Speed 3). I moved VERY carefully and didn't care to run all the way to the special bosses, since I could get plenty of XP and chests by just roaming a small area.

Weapons used:
Quicksilver Spears (default weapon), Blood Wings, Magic Staff, Spectral Daggers, Mighty Punch, Necromancer Gauntlets.

The first four take care of ranged enemies, and any with higher hitpoints will die to the two melee weapons.

I ended the run with only Spears and Magic Staff evolved, the rest were level 4 or 5.

Trinkets used:
Heavy Greaves, Crimson Flask, Armored Pads, Supply Crate, Ice Mirror, Silver Bullets

All level 5 except Ice Mirror at level 3

I also got two Charms during the run:
Bravery +25% Damage
Strength +100% Knockback

Total spent on upgrades was around 785.000 - a bit less will be okay, since you can set any of the following to level 0:
Health, Regeneration, Health Recovery, Lives
Basically almost all upgrades were maxed out or level 10, except Favourites (5) and Banishments (0).

Idea:
When you near the boss time of 20 minutes, find a shield pick-up and camp around it without picking it up. When the timer hits 20:00 pick it up and run to the boss and damage it. If boss isn't dead before shield runs out, activate Ariana's shield ability, which should be plenty of time to kill the boss safely.

This is probably the hardest achievement in the game and one to leave towards the end when you've reached level 10 for most of your stats.

I got the achievement with:

Character: Midas (includes Living Painting weapon)

Weapons:
  • Living Painting
  • Toxic Stench
  • Freezing Punch
  • Magic Staff
  • Necromancer Gauntlets
  • Whirlwind Pickaxe
I primarily used weapons that did short-range damage to quickly kill enemies who get close to you. Use one long-range weapon like Whirlwind Pickaxe or Bronze Starfish (my favorite) to thin enemies out before they get close.

Trinkets:
  • Shackles - Slows the enemy helping prevent them from getting too close
  • Parchment of the Scholar - Helps you level up quickly
  • Crimson Flask - Super helpful, pushes back enemies periodically
  • Coin Purse - When you pick up coins, gives a major damage boost
  • Forbidden Sword - Grants 80% more damage once fully leveled up
  • Banner of Ruin - Increases attack rate and projectile speed
Midas' special ability is to turn five random enemies into coins. This helps you trigger Coin Purse's damage boost often.

Things to note:
  • Every once in a while you'll hear a horn and a line of animals will cross the screen. These shouldn't be too much of a problem but you may want to get behind a rock to avoid them hitting you.
  • The "Tree Enemies" are hardest part if you're not prepared. They encircle you at the 5:00, 10:00 and 15:00-minute mark in the game and last for a minute. They are immune to damage so you can't hurt them. Get to an open area to ensure you're not blocked by a rock and be prepared to slip out of their circle as soon as you can.
  • The final boss will back away from you, but has flower creatures that will move towards you. Don't get close to the boss at all. Stay away from her and let your broad weapon (like Whirlwind Pickaxe) take her out to prevent the flowers from hurting you.
  • If you think you've gotten hit, press cn_start and click on the trophy icon in the top right corner. This screen shows you the challenges that are attainable during the round. If you don't see "Forest III - Complete the Stage without taking any damage" then you've taken damage.

You absolutely want the Buckler trinket. It will block damage every 8 seconds when fully upgraded, allowing you to make a mistake or two and still get the achievement.
