How to unlock the Hoarder achievement in Army of Ruin - Definitive Guide

Despite the specificity in the achievement wording, you will need a combined total of 200 unlocks across the following five ingame categories:

  • Characters
  • Weapons
  • Trinkets
  • Features
  • Charms
You'll see progress updates on all five after each run, and can check your totals in the Unlocks tab of the main menu.

Every achievement in the game is tied to an unlock, and you'll get many more naturally along the way, but if you just focus on achievements, you'll definitely be nowhere near 200 by the time you finish everything else. If you don't go out of your way for any challenges to unlock anything outside of achievements, you'll likely be in the 140-150 range. You'll therefore need to complete a bunch of challenges to unlock more things when you're done with everything else.

Note: Challenges stack across Ruin difficulties! What I mean by that is, say for example you look at Forest I - Ruin 1 and there's a challenge to beat it with the Obsidian Crown. Then you look at Forest I - Ruin II and there's a challenge to beat it with Blood Wing. Then you look at Forest I - Ruin III and see there's a challenge for beating the stage with Lanyz. You can stack all of these challenges in a single run by playing on Forest I - Ruin III, play as Lanyz, and mark the Obsidian Crown and Blood Wing as Favorites to make sure you get them. Complete the stage and you'll complete all three challenges. This saves a ton of time, so always check the higher Ruin challenges and do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Outside of achievements, but along the way to getting them, there are some things I recommend unlocking to help out, such as unlocking the character Selina, as well as a few others to get their weapons. However, you can easily just focus on the simplest challenges from the list. Some easy ones are getting each weapon to level 5 to unlock its evolution. There are also many relatively simple character challenges and trinket challenges. Pick ones that are on early stages, like Graveyard and Forest, and they should be easiest to handle even on Ruin 2 or 3.

The first thing you should do when you're ready to work on this is to play as any characters you haven't played as yet, who start with new weapons you don't have, and get their starting weapon to level 5. This counts as two unlocks: their starting weapon becomes available for everyone, and its evolution unlocks.
