I reckon this is the easiest way to do this.
Okay, so, start up the first mission on the easiest difficulty and go through the training. The bit you want to do this on is the part immediately after Phillip Clyde takes out the two snipers and informs you where your target is. After that cutscene, look ahead. You'll see a green flashing car door. You'll be using this shield. Tell your partner to hold his position and hold his fire (Blue hexagon symbol). Now take the shield with (A) and kill everyone in the area with it with (RT).
Once you've done that, restart from your last checkpoint and repeat until unlocked.

to get this just pick up a car door or riot shield then get close to they guy you want to kill then just push the right trigger and twat him one :)

didn't know you could use car doors that would probably make getting this a little easier nice info.

While all the solutions here work.. If your going to be using split-screen co-op.. One very important issue with this one and
The Starting a Riot achievement in Army of TWO (EU) worth 82 pointsKill 50 enemies total in Co-op Riot Shield.
These two achievements only count on the primary profile (Controller 1). We spent a good 40 minutes boosting with out this achievement popping for the secondary profile. We then switched the profiles over, and tried again, this time counting the kills. There were 0 kills previously recorded, and we had to boost for all 30..
