Destroy 300 destructible objects in Mission 7,8

20

How to unlock the Arnold Braunschweiger achievement in Army of Two - Definitive Guide

To get this achievement you must break 300 objects in either DLC mission 7 or 8, as the achievement states.

While you can break lots of items in Mission 7 the best place to break items is in Mission 8. Even doing this in mission 8 it will take 2 times and if your playing with a co-op partner it will take 3-4 times since the achievement is for each player and you will need to break a total of 600 items in co-op.

Make sure to shot EVERYTHING to include chairs, clocks, electrical boxes, laptops, TV screens, fire extinguishers, cameras, etc. Make sure you go in ALL the side rooms and offices.

In one of the rooms, that you can't miss, there is a room with looks like a large picture of you and your partner's face but if you get closer they are really 40+ screens that you can shoot. Also in that room there are plenty of TVs and other items to shoot.

Just shoot everything and then reload the level and start again. If it looks like you can break it, shoot it.

Do you have to complete the level before you restart it or can you just restart it right before you get to Dolton

You can restart at any time (you do not have to wait until you finish the level) since the achievement pops right when you shoot the 300th item and not when the level ends.

I'm voting "thumb up" on this, but I'd say that you'd be better off restarting the CHECKPOINT instead of the LEVEL. Get to the room with the huge wall of TVs (like in the solution). This room has by far the most destructible items without having to search. I wasn't even killing people... just shot as much as I could before my partner died (AI partner told to 'advance') then restarted the checkpoint. Works great.

Sweet deal, I did not even think about that. I will most defiantly modify my solution and credit you with that idea! Thanks!!!

I don't understand why this isn't working for me. I have replayed this section at least 15 times now. I know that there are 52 TVs right there that's way more than 300. Still no achievement.

Ok I just got it, but for some reason when you first get into the room and are on the second level it didn't seem to count when I shot the TVs. But when you finish the objectives upstairs and proceed downstairs that is the checkpoint that you need to keep replaying.

I've played the checkpoint with the tv's at least 14-15 times and nothing has popped. I've tried loading different checkpoints upstairs and downstairs but nothing works. Any suggestions?

I never personally tried the TV checkpoint trick. Try playing the level over again from start to finish, it takes about 1 time playing by yourself starting at zero. You should have no issues doing it that way unless it's glitched. If it is glitched try clearing your cache and try again.

I did mission 7 & 8 doing this out of assuming this is what I'm supposed to do, but it didn't pop up. Thanks for making the guide to clear it up, I'll play the level again until I get it.

This achievement requires you to break 300 objects in either mission 7 or 8 (of the DLC).

Do NOT reload checkpoints over and over*, the game does not save your progress until the next checkpoint. However, to get this in one run there is still a convenient way. Do level 8, rush to the computer room. When you are on the 2nd level shoot out all the monitors, windows, CCTV Tapes, glass, etc. Go on til it says checkpoint. Once it says checkpoint Pause and hit Restart From Checkpoint. All of your progress saved since you hit a checkpoint, but the restart respawns all of the stuff. Break everything again and proceed to the next check point. I believe you get 3 opportunities to break everything in the computer room using this method.

If you run out of ammo just quit out and before you hit continue from checkpoint go in to weapons and pick 2 new ones. This will cause the game to give you fresh ammo.

Also, once you're past the computer room and in to the vault, before you run in to the middle go around the edge and destroy all of those CCTV tapes as well (if you need them)

Using this method you can get 300 broken items in one run without having to restart the level.

Remember the key is you MUST reach a checkpoint for it to save progress. I even tried dying on purpose to reload the previous checkpoint and could never get the achievement to pop.

* Some claim reloading works, however the majority of people find this method DOES NOT WORK. There is no point reloading when it is easy enough to just do it my way and not risk having a problem.

I got it by reloading checkpoints. In fact, it was on my fourth or so attempt at the first computer room scene.

You probably had destroyed other things, I sat there for a long while, trying the reload option and just getting myself killed. Doesn't work.

At the first floor, after destroying the 48 screens, go use the server for a checkpoint (press back to use the GPS if unsure, it's an objective). Reload now and the 48 screens are back. Destroy them, use the server for checkpoint, reload, rinse and repeat. This is the only checkpoint that can be reloaded over and over again, because upon hitting it and reloading, you'd still need to use the server again to proceed the story. Using it triggers a checkpoint everytime, which saves your progress.

I disagree I went through this level top to bottom about 3 times without doing the checkpoint method, and cleared everything in server room on both floors, and every single tape in the final room. Nothing has popped. This chievo is either bugged for me or something isn't working properly.

You must destroy 300 destructible objects. Very easily done on Level 8. It will take about 1.5-2 playthroughs of level 8 to do this. Almost anything can be destroyed from fire extinguishers to electrical boxes, to chairs to laptops to TV's etc. In the level there will be a massive fight in an office area, there will be tons of offices on the main room and in side rooms with plenty to destroy (laptops, chairs, clocks, TV's) and then there will be another fight in Dalton's main room before the vault where you will be a huge screen with Tyson and Rios' face on it. That huge screen has 48 individual screens which can all be destroyed. There is nothing more to really say for this achievement though, just shoot anything that looks like it can be destroyed. You can also find an area, destroy everything than die and come back and keep rinsing and repeating. But after a maximum of 2 playthroughs of the level destroying everything you see you should have it. I got it in 1 and a half playthroughs. It unlocked on my second playthrough in the massive TV room with Tyson and Rios' face on the screen. Oh yea and also if you are doing co-op you must each destroy 300 objects, you can't get 150 than have your partner get 150, each person must destroy 300.
