You don't need to win to complete a season and unlock bonuses so if you want to complete a stage a bit faster you can get terminal damage and the stage will end. Select "save & quit to menu" then continue the season and you will be at the next stage.
To get terminal damage it seems you need to reach ~160Kph when you crash. Make sure the damage level is set to severe. Repair the car when you can. Choose to repair engine, radiator and turbo only.
This trick doesn't work when you are at the last stage of a rally. If you have multiple rallies in a season you will have to play through the last stage of each rally.

Thank you for this. I like the game but at some point it becomes so repetitive and boring.
