How to unlock the 10 Wicket Defeat achievement in Ashes Cricket 2009 - Definitive Guide

The easist way to do this achievement I found was to play a Test match. Put the difficulty on easy.

Make sure you win the toss & put the opposing team into bat. Bowl them out as quickly as possible so your batting session comes into play.

Overtake the opposing teams score when batting but not by loads. When your happy you have a lead they can catch let them bowl you out.

They will be batting again. Right here comes the important part...... don't bowl them out before they overtake your score. If you do that the match is over with you having won by an innings instead. Once they have reached & passed your score finish them off.

Your now back in batting. Check what your target is & reach it without losing a wicket. The save system is very helpful for this. Match over - you won by 10 wickets.

Here is my scorecard for when I got the achievement.

England (me) won the toss.
Australia (com) batted first.

Aussie 1st innings 74/10.
England 1st innings 105/10.

This meant I had to let Austraila get at least 32 runs to pass my score so I could bat again.
I had them at 29/9 so I just played no balls (gives them 1 run with out being bowled out) until they passed my score.

Aussie 2nd innings 35/10.

I batted again needed just 3 runs without losing a wicket to get the achievement.

I hope this explantion helps you.

This is a pretty easy trophy, but one that requires both good batting & bowling. Pick a weak team as your opponent, and pick a good team to play as such as England or Australia. Make sure you field first, and just bowl the opponent out, it doesn't matter what score they get at this point. If they score 50/60, make sure to hit about 70 with your batsman, then bowl them out again. If they get 50 again (like the 1st innings) you will need 31 to win (one more than their total over both innings in the Test Match). To get this trophy, you need to win by 10 wickets, which means you cannot lose a wicket while chasing their total. Bat carefully, play ground shots, don't take any risks. Win the match without losing a wicket in your 2nd innings and this trophy will unlock.

If you are struggling, save every over in the 2nd innings and if you lose a wicket in your 2nd innings for any reason, load up that save game.

The easiest way to do this is to bowl you opponent out for a low score, then bat till you reach about 20-30 runs more than your opponents score. Bowl your opponents out for another low score, and achieve the target without losing a wicket.
