How to unlock the Ashes Destroyer achievement in Ashes Cricket 2009 - Definitive Guide
Simple enough.
5 test matches in the Ashes series. As long as the opposing team has 2 batting innings per match it is very easy.
If we say the opposing team has 2 batting innings per match it means you have 10 bowling sessions over the Ashes series to get the 40.
I would suggest you play as England & use spin bowlers most of the time. G.Swann & M.Panaser. Make one of them your 40 wicket man & the other as a back-up. If your having trouble getting a particular wicket use Flintoff or Collingwood to change things about.
Aim for which ever bowler your using as your 40 wicket taker to get at least 5 wickets per bowling session. (so 10 per test match). You will have it done in 4 tests matches.
On easy mode you can get Austraila out very quickly with spin bowlers.

I would suggest creating a Warney and a Gilly(legspinner and a wicketkeeper\batsman).Warney got 52 wickets and Gilly caught a lot of them.Just bowl Warney always from one end.Dont use England because they are poms.

I Was Having Trouble With This One. But I Started To Use Cook (england) Even Though He Has A Rating Of Just 5.
You have To Press B (only ball cook can play) & leave it in its Default Postion, then make sure you get it in the light green area (this is difficult but easy once its been done a few times)
I Would Say 1/3 Balls is going to be out. I'm currently still doing this now, but thought i would share that piece of info with you guys. Im currently at 3rd Test with cook taking 22 wickets from first two tests. i nearly got 4 in a row as well with cook. Saved game for the other achivement (top hat trick)

What field setup did you use

What I did for this was play as England on easy, and just rotate two bowlers, Anderson and Cook.
Assuming you win all 5 tests (I always tried to bat 2nd), you will take 100 wickets, and so this shouldn't be a problem, assuming you don't get too many run outs (I always made no effort with the throws to try and minimise this, but you'll still get some!)
The key is to play for catches, not bowling people out (other than Siddle at 11 I never bowled anyone out).
With Anderson, I used defensive setting 10, and bowled X or B balls wide of the batsmen and 3/4 up the pitch (using a bit if LT and RT to vary things as well). I usually got catches to the men on the inner circle or a high catch to the guy on the boundary.
For Cook, I used defensive setting 2, as it has a lot of catchers leg side. Bowl balls short, varying speed (slower the better) on the batsmen's legs so he can hit it high leg side, where I got a lot of catches.
For the catching, it's tricky to start with but the pace is always the same so when you get used to it, you should catch most of them. I tended to say "one and two and three" in my head and that's about the time to push A. It changes v quickly from green to red, so you need to be quick!! Good luck!!

You need to get 40 wickets with one bowler in an Ashes series, which at first sounds like a daunting task but if you make sure the opponent bats first every match, you will have 100 wickets available. Choose two bowlers, one bowler will automatically get 40 wickets, unlocking this trophy. It pops as soon as one of your bowlers gets 40 wickets, I got it in the 2nd innings of the 3rd test at Edgbaston.
It is extremely unlikely you will more than 20 run outs so don't worry about that, make sure to switch to Easy for this as well.
Enter Ashes mode and choose two bowlers. Using two will make this easier, you should get around 40 wickets with each bowler by the end of the series. You can change your bowlers once you hit 40 and unlock the achievement.
