How to unlock the The Triple Ton achievement in Ashes Cricket 2009 - Definitive Guide

Fairly easy when using the Save/Load technique. Firstly set the difficulty to easy as you'll be trying to hit alot of sixes on the way to this achievement. Best way for this, use one batsman to get to your 300 (IE Strauss) and the other batsman to hit ones (IE Cook) thus giving your big hitter the most chances to raise the points. Doesn't matter if your other batsman gets out accidentally as you'll only be using your main batsman for points. Now after each over, save your game. If your main batsman is bowled out, stop the game and load back up. You should get the achievement easily this way.

Additional Notes: Alot of people think that batting against a weaker team makes it easier, this may not be the case. IF you've already played the ashes mode, then you'll be used to a fast paced bowling attack. I've seen alot of people get out from Kenya because they bat way too early due to the bowlers slow ability.

The best way to get a couple of these acheivements (100, 200, 300, 600 test score) is to play a test match (i used England versus Kenya).

Assuming you are familiar with the save option, play very aggressive, using only the B button to loft all shots, and aiming generally away from fielders positioned in the deep. For short balls, go back in your stance (LT) and hit to 2 or 9 o clock, and for full balls, come forward (LB) and hit it straight over the bowlers head. The key to pushing B is just before the ball lands on short balls, and a bit earlier than that for full balls.

After about 10 overs your batsmen will be fearless, and the bowlers timid. I was able to average about 24-30 every over (saving every over), and as such managed to get the 100, 200, 300, 600 achievements in under 2 hours

You need to score 300 runs in one innings with a batsman, this is a pretty difficult trophy and may take some time. Firstly I'd recommend starting a test match, as 50 overs may not be enough to get this and in a test match you have a lot more time. Put the difficulty to easy as well.

Make sure to choose a team with lots of strong batters (e.g. Australia or England) or if you want you could create a few custom players and max out their batting skills (this is what I did). Now be careful not to slog the ball, especially with spin, as even the slightest nick of the bat could make the ball go straight into the hands of any of the close fielders. Use grounded shots, in the first few overs there should be no-one to the batter's leg side, so use back foot shots to get 4's. If there is a massive gap in the field and you are confident enough, slog it as the gaps in the field will decrease your chance of getting out. Try and keep a strong partnership going between two batsmen and if one of your batsmen gets out you can switch to the other batsman who should also have a high score.

You will get all the other run trophies going for this.

You can earn this fairly quick by slogging every ball by pressing , you will need to time your hits otherwise you may hit a poor run. Ground shots are safer but will take longer. You will earn the "Raise the Bat" and "The Double Ton" while working towards this achievement.
