How to unlock the Knockabout achievement in Ashes Cricket - Definitive Guide

As it says, rather self-explanatory, except there's no achievement tracker. You can track your stats from the menu => Settings => User Statistics.

If you're grinding for this, you can use 2 controllers.

Just in case it helps anyone (as grinding this one can be dull!) theres a way you can save your sanity and do something else instead.

Grab 2 controllers as per the solution above, then just tap the ball into space so you DONT score a boundary. Then set off running by pressing X. Keep a nice rhythm and keep tapping X at a reasonable interval and you'll just keep running and running. The second player will receive the ball but not stump you if left alone.

Personally I turned the tv over and watched a program. I scored 384 runs on one ball, but I suspect the score per ball is unlimited.

This is buggy. I have 2,585 runs but no achievement yet. I read on a PS4 guide that "the run counters have been known to occasionally reset, usually when matches are saved halfway through.". so i guess its the same for the Xbox One too

EDIT: Ignore the above comment, the achievement popped after getting 4 more sixes in another match.

Also, despite it saying any mode, runs in training mode do not count for this achievement even though they count for some others. Odd.

Any way to disable replay after a boundary?

I don't think so, but that would be nice.

In settings, turn off replay. Saved me a ton of time
It's under General setting, then Gameplay settings, 2nd choice replay. Turn it to none.

@El Thommo @usrhlp
I don't get it. In my game catchers are always sending back the ball even if left alone. Did you change anything in the settings?

You need to place the player with the ball inside the running area, you can run all day then, if that makes sense. Anywhere else and they'll throw the ball in.

I can confirm that there does appear to be a maximum score per ball. I am unsure how much that is, but I was running between wickets for quite a while and when I decided to stop it only counted as 11 runs. So it appears that once you reach that threshold the runs that ball resets.

POTENTIALLY GLITCHED

2500 runs in any game mode sounds simple and providing you play through the Ashes Mode and T20 World Championship, you won't be far off it. However, the game seems to have a problem with tracking runs scored from matches that were saved half way through. As a result, the counters (which can be found under Options => User Statistics) often reset. A sure fire way of reaching this total is to play T20 matches to completion, getting big scores with the bat and bowling the opposition out. On Rookie Mode, it is quite easy to get 250 runs in a T20 match, meaning that within 10 matches, you will reach this total. Again, make sure you complete the match without exiting mid game to return.
