How to unlock the Stumped! achievement in Ashes Cricket - Definitive Guide

Do this with two pads

Create any game with two controllers

Ensure your account bowls first

Before you bowl change your active bowler to a spinner - Lyon for Australia. Moeen Ali for England. This will bring the keeper to the stumps.

Before you bowl, with the 2nd batsman move him all the way to leg side with right stick (opposite direction to slip fielders). Then click the right stick in once (this will make them run down the pitch)

Then with the bowler select a short delivery with B. Don’t worry about pressing any button for timing and pitch, just let the slider run all the way up and down. The reason for this is you have to quickly go to your other pad and press B to do an aggressive shot.

The batsman should now run down the pitch. Hopefully miss the ball because you moved him to the side and bowled the ball short.

Your keeper should collect the ball and you press A with your bowling pad for him to take the bails off the stumps. It will still count if he throws the ball at the stumps as well.

It’s a little fiddly jumping between pads but should only take a couple of tries.

The Achievement is not unlocking for me.

And I have no idea if I'm doing something wrong as I know nothing about cricket. I have no idea what these words mean, although I think I'm following the directions.

Some of the guides for other Achievements have worked for me, but this one seems to be eluding me...

EDIT: I got it. Stephen Fry had to explain stumping to me on YouTube. I pulled the batsman forward (towards the bowler). Got it first try.

Oh dear lord this was easy. Only reason it took 2 chances is that my bowler actually struck the wicket the first time. laugh

Perfect solution!!

A stumping is when the batsman is outside his crease (batting area) and the misses the ball. The wicketkeeper catches the ball and knocks the stumps before the batsman can get back into his crease. This can be achieved in regular play but is much easier using a second controller. Simply select a spin bowler for the bowling team and then set the batsman to play an advancing shot (by pressing before the delivery is bowled, followed by any shot). Providing the batsman misses the ball and the wicket keeper catches it, press quickly and he will stump the batsman out. If looking to achieve this in regular play, opt for a good spin bowler (Lyons from Australia is a good choice here) and bowl Full length deliveries that have flight on them.
