How to unlock the Tools of the Trade achievement in Assassin's Creed Mirage - Definitive Guide
do all of the contracts that you can. immediately after you unlock the ability to accept contracts, do them so you can get very fast rewards that are required for upgrading tools. it's a bit of a grind near the end though, if you didn't do them at the beginning

i never learned any of that until later. i got to the very end of the game and did the contracts last lol... thats what i neeeded to do, you have to do every single contract and you get one more that gives you two more skill points even if you have 1 point you need

Throughout your time in the game you’ll slowly get access to the assassin's tools of the trade to help you with infiltration, combat, and sometimes, even to get the hell out of dodge. There are five tools to collect in all.
You’ll unlock the first, the Throwing Knife, during the game’s prologue, while you’ll get access to your second tool after the “First Order” mission, where you head to the Caravanserai in the Wilderness to take out the first member of the Order, Al-Ghul. The mission where you unlock your second tool slot is called “Branching Out.”
However, while you’ll get no choice with your first tool, when it comes to your second, you’ll have a choice of four:
So, once you’ve done that, and have five tools, it’s time to upgrade them all - again, at one of the Musa brothers at a Hidden Ones Bureau. Now, this is not a cheap thing to do, and it’s going to take a lot of Components, Steel Ingots and Leather (the game’s three crafting materials).
For instance, to fully upgrade the Traps, you’ll need the following:
So, in short, in order to fully upgrade all the tools to unlock this achievement, you’re going to need a lot of resources, so look out for chests, do Contracts, and try to nail the optional objectives too.
You’ll have resources coming out the wazoo after a few hours, so don’t worry too much - we’d upgraded all but one by the time we got to the third out of five targets, without too many distractions outside of the main story and contracts. I would buy all the Components you can from traders though - as they’re by far the hardest resource to find, and you need a lot of them in the grand scheme of things.

Hello friends today we are going to unlock the achievement Tools of the Trade.
This achievement first requires you to unlock all the tools via skill points. These ‘skills’ can be found by hitting the “” button and using the ‘’ button to tab over to the ‘Skills’ tab. The skills you need to purchase are in the middle skill tree marked ‘Trickster’ You can find the ‘Extra Tool Capacity’ skills down the left side of the tree. You will need a total of 7 Skill points to unlock all 3. Each of ‘Extra Tool Capacity’ skills require 2 skill points to unlock but you also need to purchase the head of the tree ‘Auto Collect’ in order to gain access to them.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage has 6 tools that Basim can use in his journey and they each have 3 Tiers of upgrades. Well, that is all of them except the first one you will gain access to which is the Torch. That tool does not have any upgrades.
The 6 tools are:
1. Torch
2. Throwing knife
3. Blow dart (my personal favorite)
4. Noise Maker
5. Smoke Bomb
6. Trap
These Tools can be unlocked and upgraded by Ibn Musa at one of the Hidden One’s Bureau’s. To upgrade the tools Basim (you) will have to collect three different materials.
1. Steel Ingots
2. Leather
3. Components
You can collect these materials by completing Contracts (found at any Bureau) or purchasing them from traders. I believe they only hold 100 of each material so you will have to revisit them in order to restock their inventory.
Side Note: I don’t recommend purchasing anything until you have saved up 2007 Dirhams for the “Hoarder” Achievement.
This achievement requires quite a bit of materials to fully upgrade all the tools so I recommend you loot as many chests as you can find and complete as many contracts as you can before you attempt to unlock it. You can also use Merchant Tokens to reduce the price of the traders by up to 30%. This will cost you 6 Tokens. 1 for 10%, 2 for 20% and 3 for 30% reduction.
Tier 2: 55 Steel Ingots 25 Leather 90 Components
Tier 3: 100 Steel Ingots 40 Leather 150 Components

Tier 3 70 Steel Ingots 70 Leather 150 Components
Total : 135 Steel Ingots 135 Leather 300 Components

Hope that helps :) Happy Hunting

Buy gears from local dealers in advance, there is always a shortage of them for upgrades. There are a lot of other resources left unused. Flying blades and darts (cloud + endless sleep) were the most useful tools for me.
