How to unlock the Make It Your Own achievement in Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Definitive Guide

Everytime you level up you unlock a new engraving.

Once you hit level 3 go to Sami and find the Blacksmith. Engrave an item in your possession for the trophy.

Once you arrive in the first town of Sami, make your way to the blacksmith on your map. Select "engrave" and pick a piece of armor or weapon, it will cost around 10 drachma and a few pieces of leather, metal, or wood.

To unlock this achievement you need to 'engrave' an item. Engraving in this games is a way of giving your equipment extra stats to make them more useful/powerful. This is separate from upgrading which just improves the base damage of weapons and protection of armour. You can unlock this achievement very early on, during the initial questline one of your objectives is to go to a town called 'Sami' to collect a debt. Across from the merchant you collect a debt from you will find a blacksmith. Speak to him then choose to engrave one of your items. Engraving your starting items is very cheap, at ten Drachmae and two Iron Metal, the rusty sword is what i chose to engrave. Drachmae is this games currency and Iron Metal is one of the upgrade materials. You will find plenty of both from looting corpses and containers.

Once you engrave any item, the achievement will unlock.

Engraving - improving an item in a forge.
There are different levels of engravings, depending on the achievements received, as in the syndicate (killed 100 opponents with swords/maces, kill animals, etc.).
The further you move through the plot and develop, the higher the level of available engravings.

The reward is given for the first one received.

Just go to a blacksmith's shop and engrave your weapon or armor.
