How to unlock the Master of the Hunt achievement in Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Definitive Guide

To unlock the Master of the Hunt trophy in Assassin's Creed Odyssey, you will need to visit Daphnae at the Temple of Artemis. I unlocked the quest around Episode 3, but I believe it can be unlocked as soon as Episode 2.

Once you speak to Daphnae, she will give you a list of eight legendary animals that you must hunt down. Return the pelts to her and you'll be rewarded with some legendary gear.

Below is a list of the eight legendary animals you will need to kill, their starting level (their level will increase as yours raises) and the closest viewpoint to you can use to fast travel to them.

Kalydonian Boar - Level 13
Artemis’s Bow (+20% Damage with Predator Shot ability)
Phokis, Sacred Lands of Apollo, west of Temple of Artemis viewpoint

The Hind of Keryneia - Level 16
Drachmae reward, Death Arrow crafting
Eboea, Artemision Point, south of Istiaia Peak viewpoint

The Nemean Lion - Level 22
Pandora’s Kopis (+15% damage to animals, buffs to the Tamed Beasts ability)
Argolis, Sinkholes of Herakles, southwest of Sight of Perseus viewpoint

The Kretan Bull - Level 33
Master's Artemis Outfit (+15% Hunter damage, +10% bow charging speed)
Messara, Fertile Battlegrounds, southeast of Temple of Artemis Diktynna viewpoint (Little Egypt)

The Lykaon Wolf - Level 36
Master's Artemis Treads (+15% Hunter damage, +10% bow damage when using Charged Shot)
Lakonia, Dioskouri Peninsula, south of Helot Lookout viewpoint (Helot Hills)

Kallisto the Bear- Level 37
Master's Artemis Belt (+13% Hunter damage, +12% damage with bows on distant targets.
Arkadia, Golden Fields, west of Temple of Poseidon viewpoint (Argos)

Erymanthian Boar - Level 38
Master's Artemis Gloves (+15% Hunter damage, +25% adrenaline upon headshot kill)
Elis, Erymanthos Foothills, southeast of Ionian Watch viewpoint (Istion Valley)

The Krokottas Hyena - Level 39
Master's Artemis Hood (+13% Hunter damage, +20% headshot damage)
Kythera, Skandeia Bay, north of Sacrificial Altar viewpoint

Once you have returned with each of the eight pelts, Daphnae will change location and move to Chios. Visit her for a final quest which will give you a choice to make. Which choice you make doesn't matter, so I'll avoid revealing spoilers.

When the final quest has been completed you'll unlock the Master of the Hunt trophy.

If you haven't unlocked the I am Legend trophy by this point, you can equip the legendary armour you receive throughout this questline to unlock that trophy as well.

To unlock this achievement you need to complete the Daughters of Artemis questline. You begin this questline in the Sacred Lands of Apollo area of the Phokis region. Go to the Temple of Artemis location and speak to the woman there, Daphnae, who is offering a quest. The quest is to kill a monstress boar which is no mean feat. Once you have defeated this boar, return to Daphnae and she will be impressed enough to give you seven more tasks that include defeating legendary beasts. The level requirements for these range from between 16-39 so you will not be able to do this right away. They are:

  • The Hind of Keryneia, level 16
  • The Nemean Lion, level 22
  • The Kretan Bull, level 33
  • The Lykaon Wolf, level 36
  • Kallisto the Bear, level 37
  • The Erymanthian Boar, level 38
  • The Krokottas Hyena, level 39

Once you have killed the seven beasts and claimed their pelts, return them all to Daphnae for your reward and final test. Speak to her again to receive the quest 'Artemis's Request'. You will be asked to fight her as your final task. Note the final quest to fight her is a level 49 quest. It's not a tough fight so you don't need to wait until getting to level 49 since the previous quest is only level 39. You do not need to fight her though here and if you choose not to you will still complete the questline. If you do beat her, though, the Daughters of Artemis become enthralled to you as their new leader. This worked in my favour once on a later quest where I talked my way out of a fight by invoking my leadership, so there is a slight benefit in fighting/beating her in combat.

It is necessary to kill all the legendary animals and meet the Huntress on the island of Chios

When killing legendary animals, except for bull and deer, you can use the “help” of bounty hunters. It is better to use the moment with the maximum reward on your head. Or gain “fame” yourself. Then bring the mercenaries with you to the legend and you will only have to dodge in time. Works at maximum difficulty level.

The Boar and Lion can be easily killed from the cave... just run into their cave and jump onto the ledge in the wall and shoot with your bow.
The easiest way to catch a deer is on horseback, but you can only mount a horse outside the area where the deer is located.
I personally killed the bull according to the scheme: Archery shot - dodge - archery shot.... as the adrenaline accumulated, then a furious blow. 7-8 minutes and you're done!
I haven't gotten to the rest yet.

Don’t confuse people, it’s not necessary to kill Daphne; it’s enough to refuse to fight her when talking before the battle. Thus, the decision in the final dialogue does not affect the receipt of the trophy.

Scored the Erifman Boar at level 61 only in the legendary Heroes of Greece set. And, of course, he hit him with the “hero strike” ability. Scored in about a minute

In addition to killing the animals, you must kill Daphne. The quest is located just south of the hunter village

I killed the boar at level 15, simply hit him with a blade with the poison ability turned on and constantly dodged into a square, trying to be on the side of him. I did it on the second try, for some reason the little boars didn’t run out like the first time, maybe I was lucky.

Don’t jump into the pit right away with the lion, first kill all the lionesses with a bow from above. And it is advisable to use a legendary weapon with poison (it dropped after killing one of the mercenaries, and then I just upgrade it from the blacksmiths).

This is where we move (circled in yellow) and run. The point on the map is the approximate location where the quest icon will appear.
