You will get this achievement after the cutscene after learning the basic fighting mechanics of the game. This achievement is not missable.

I solved this problem by just starting a new game, not a plus, but just a new game.

Let me add - not just in the very first battle, but in the VERY first battle, when you play as Leonid.
I only have it left until Platinum, since I played it first on a free weekend and it was not protected.
I started a new game as Alexios - for some reason there was no given scene, I got to the first battle on Megarid, I thought about it - and never got it. Probably because I launched New Game+.
