How to unlock the Surgical Strikes achievement in Assassin's Creed Origins - Definitive Guide

This is a "The hidden ones" main story DLC, unmissable if you play the DLC and probably the first quests that you are gonna pick in the area.
In order to avoid the spoilers i will just tell you that it requires to assassinate 3 targets in the Roman Army.

The three assassinations you need to perform correspond to each of the first three main story quests in the DLC, all of which are unlocked upon entering the Hidden Ones bureau at the start of the DLC. Each quest is detailed below.

Where the Slaves Die

Talk to Tahira and she will give you information about your target - Tacito - as well as his location, which is inside a giant quarry filled with enemies all over. He's giving a speech approximately in the middle. Head to the quarry and mark him with Senu. You've got a couple ways to approach this:

  • Using Senu, find the closest mounted crossbow. Take out nearby enemies, then use the bow to shoot him from a distance. Just be aware you'll still have to get to his body afterwards to confirm the kill.
  • Approach silently, taking out enemies along the way. There is a long beam running over the top of the area where Tacito is giving his speech. If you can make your way to this beam, you can assassinate him from above.
  • You could alternately just go in swinging and fight everyone, then kill him in battle.

Once he's dead, go back and talk to Tahira again. You'll be assaulted by a bunch of Romans. Kill them all (freeing the nearby rebels for help if you want). Talk to the rebel leader to end the mission.

The Walls of the Ruler

Follow the objective marker to talk to a woman. She will tell you about your target - Ampelius - and where he can be found - inside the Wall-of-the-Ruler citadel. The catch is that he and a commander are dressed identically.

Head to the citadel and use Senu to mark your targets. The one that is Ampelius is random, so pick one and approach and kill him. If it's not him, you'll have to go to the other marker and kill him. Like always, you'll have to confirm your kill when done if you kill him in combat instead of assassinating him. Once he's dead, the mission will end.

The Setting Sun

Head to the objective marker to meet with a group of men outside a pyramid under construction. After talking to the leader, he'll follow you. You have to climb up and head to the middle of the pyramid and into the entrance in the center to head underground. You will have to kill any enemies on the way so your companion follows you into the cave entrance.

Once inside, you've got a simple puzzle to solve. Your companion needs to get onto the platform nearest the wall. Once he's on it, you'll have to pick up spools and blocks and place them on the other platform. Once you have 4 items on it, stand on it yourself as well and the platform with your companion will raise up all of the way to the top. He'll go off to the next area. Climb up after him.

WARNING: In this next room, there is a glitch that can make it impossible to proceed. Read below for what can happen and how to fix it.

In this room, your companion will automatically go to the lower platform, and you once again have to weigh the other one down to raise him up. What you need to do first is go to the platform he is on and push the tall wooden structure off of it onto the log tracks. Here is where the glitch comes in. If the tall wooden structure isn't aligned with the log tracks, you'll be unable to move it and progress. If this happens, quit to the title screen from the pause menu. Load your game back up and it should be aligned now.

Once the tall wooden structure is aligned, push it off the companion platform onto the rails. Now climb up the nearby ledges to find more log rails. Break open the wall to find another tall wooden structure. Push it out along the log rail onto the platform. This, combined with your weight, will weigh down the platform and raise up your companion to hop off. Once he's up, follow him up the cliff and into the alcove. What he's looking for isn't there, so time to leave.

Go up farther to the cave's exit. Kill all the enemies, then talk to your companion. He will give you your next target - Ptahmose - and will tell you where to find him. Head to the objective marker and assassinate Ptahmose however you please, confirming the kill if need be. This will end the quest.

It’s strange that no one writes that the trophy is buggy and simply doesn’t work. All hope for ng+

Immediately after killing the third, the trophy dropped. There was no need to be clever

The trophy didn't drop. I went to NG+, after the prologue you can immediately start the DLC. It took an hour and a half, the trophy fell out.

As of November 1, 2020, the trophy did not drop in the main playthrough. In NG+ Tacitus was the last to kill. I received the trophy only after completing the quest, and not after the murder. Be sure to make backups in the DLC.

Version 1.44.
Killing these three characters must be done in one game session.

It is not clear, in general, how this works.
On my first playthrough, I killed Tacitus with a bow in one shot, then finished him off on the ground. The trophy didn't drop. Moreover, the next one (For the sake of the greater good) fell out without any problems.
I launched NG+ and quickly ran through the storyline to get the hidden blade.
He returned to Sinai, killed Tacitus from the air, but it so happened that in the fortress Ampelius was then killed by rebel assistants, and he also had to be finished off on the ground. But immediately after the third kill of Ptahmose, the trophy dropped.

from the first kill of this trio the prize did not drop, I completed the expansion, then more pharaohs, then started a new game, quickly ran through the prologue, as soon as the quest for the invisible appeared = went and boarded the ship, arrived, started the story, took the first quest to the quarry (Tacitus) , killed Tacitus with a bow, completed the quest (kill all enemies in the area), and then the prize came out.

ABOUT NG+ : it is created in a separate slot, that is, you can enter the regular game at any time;
I created ng+ when I was level 55, and all the other enemies were level 54-55, there is no equal increase in enemy levels as in The Witcher, that is, level 60-90 enemies simply do not exist;
ALSO ABOUT METHODS OF KILLING : I read in Western guides that the enemy must be killed with a hidden blade; So, starting NG+ you will not be given a blade right away, you need to get it as the story progresses, and in fact, you can immediately go to Sinai without a blade. I killed a guy in a quarry stealthily and the trophy fell out (apparently it just wasn’t triggered). IMHO , there are no special conditions for this trophy, it’s just that in Origins half of the trophies are triggered very poorly and drop out after half a minute or a minute. But there is a separate problem with this

At first I also didn’t get the trophy after killing three people, but it did later: after completing the mission “Where the Fishes Die.”
