How to unlock the Androids Assemble achievement in Assault Android Cactus - Definitive Guide
To play as 8 androids, you will have to progress far enough into the game to have beaten Venom boss. This will unlock the final Android you need to unlock this achievement.
In order after each boss, you will unlock the following.
Starch
Aubergine
Shiitake
Peanut
These androids all have achievements tied to them regarding their weapons. The boss fights are very hard at first, as your battery constantly drains unless you get a green battery pick up. My best advice is to use Starch. Her laser attack is even able to land hits from the other side of the levels. Her secondary attack is also vital for staying alive in crowded rooms. Very useful on boss fights too. You may find others are better, but that's my take on making it easier.

Great solution as always Mr.Beaver
I personally have found the best Android to be the little nervous redhead Holly & her Seeker (aka Homing Missiles) which for me seem to be sufficient for most stages, sure her secondary weapon Cannonball isn't very fast but I haven't met any enemy that dodge it once it's been fired & after that it can go through several big enemies & with few exceptions only seem to stop when it hits a wall...
HOWEVER... when it comes to the bosses you really wanna take your time & find their soft spot especially when going for the S+ rank because there's a timer on (a bit like the streak counter on normal levels but without the streak, lol) so you have to get through the different phases as fast as possible, so f.ex on the 1st Boss Embryo I managed to get an S+ using Cactus because his Flamethrower can cause a lot of real damage in no time but for Venom (4th Boss) I felt Cactus was too difficult because you have to get so close, so I think I'll eventually be able to nail that stage with Lemon not only because of the long-range properties of her Rockets but also because when fully charged they fire 3 at the time making it possible to take down 2 targets in one charge, which is crucial at the 2nd phase to keep the S+ possibility alive... any way that's just a few tips that I hope can help others in this great but challenging game (well at least if your an achievement hunter or a completionist)
Happy hunting & good luck

Any reason this wouldn't unlock after I unlock Peanut and make sure I've played a level with each of the 8?

More Androids will unlock as you go through the Campaign. This is another odd trophy: sometimes the game registers when you start a level with an Android and quit it, and sometimes it doesn’t. What I suggest doing is to clear 1-1 with different Androids until the trophy pops.

All additional androids are unlocked in campaign mode. It is enough to complete any one level for each character to receive a trophy.
