How to unlock the I Am Become Death achievement in Assault Android Cactus - Definitive Guide

Boss Rush Mode will have you come up against all 5 of the Zone Bosses consecutively. You unlock Boss Rush Mode after completing the main story for the first time.

The bosses:
1) Embryo (Zone 1 Boss)
2) Vespula (Zone 2 Boss)
3) Justice (Zone 3 Boss)
4) Venom (Zone 4 Boss)
5) Medulla (Zone 5 Boss)

Note: You will not be fighting the Android "boss" fight from Zone 5 that came right before the Medulla fight.

Some notes:

-You will pretty much begin each fight at full battery charge
-You do not get to choose a new character between fights

Because you are stuck with a single character, you need to make sure that the selection fits well for each boss. For example, I had a lot of trouble with Justice (Zone 3 boss). My first time beating Justice was with Starch (character unlocked for defeating the Zone 1 boss). At the same time, my first time defeating the Zone 5 Boss was with Coral (4th character you have from the beginning). I eventually used Starch for my win here.

The other thing that helped was the Mega Weapons EX Option (costing 5000 credits). I know a lot of the other achievements recommend the Virtual/AI Players to help, but I found they didn't add as much during the Boss Rush. It appears the health was scaled and only made things worse.

A good idea might be to practice these bosses for getting the S+ ranks as speed will be the key to completing Boss Rush. In general, Justice and Medulla were the 2 hardest to go through for me. The Medulla fight will include the VR enemies part of the fight in the original version.

NOTE: At first, I thought I didn't unlock this when using the EX Option. It unlocked later however luckily. So if there is a delay, don't worry as it should unlock a little later.

That was the hardest part trying to beat Medulla the first time with the Shotgun character. That VR section needed a slightly longer range attack. That's what originally got me to focus on Starch with her laser.

Yup, Starch did it for me! For those who don't know, her laser is more powerful the closer you are to the enemy.

I'm not sure what you mean since I mentioned using the Ex Option for in the solution. Or are you talking about a different game mode? Plus, I haven't done this in quite a while either to know.

I actually haven't gone for that achievement in quite a long time. I believe it can be helpful, but I can't say for sure since I didn't use it.

You can really use the flamethrower in the Medulla VR fight. Just like Geometry Wars, keep shooting up front and when the enemies gather behind you, just turn and use the flamethrower.

it too didn't unlock for me at first so worried that it had to be done with an S Rank shock I came here looking for clues ... what worked for me was dashboard, shut down the game & start it up again ... as soon as the load screen came up it popped, what a relief dance headspin so to clearify you do NOT need an S Rank smile
Oh & I used Cactus wave

Cactus with mega weapons turned on for me. Her mega weapon melts the bosses with ease, so it becomes a case of making sure you pick up the batteries and don't die much.

After numerous failed attempts with Holly and even Starch, it was SHIITAKE that finally got me past the finish line.

Her laser gun pierces through multiple enemies with one shot and using the MEGA weapon variant of it, I simply vaporized multiple enemies and melted through the final Geometry Wars-esque nightmare of the final section, finally killing that last 'shape' and finishing this once and for all!

I jumped in celebration and fell right back in my chair in relief now that this was over. Among the proudest 80G I've unlocked in quite a while.

Life of the boss don't increase with IA partners and this trash is almost totally luck based, so any advice and tip is useless.

For what it's worth, I powered through every boss with Cactus - her flamethrower special is unbelievably strong, and works wonders against every boss.

HOWEVER, I always run out of time in the VR section! I've tried three times, and been left with either one or two enemies at time out. Annoying! This is the one spot where the flamethrower doesn't do any good. Just my 2 cents.

This was WITHOUT any EX options present.

Boss Rush is unlocked after defeating the 5th boss. This mode will put you through all the boss fights in one sitting. Since you are not going for S+ ranks, you can afford to play as you wish and also get knocked down. The only really hard part of this mode is the last phase of Medulla, where you have only one minute to get rid of a lot of enemies.

One tip I can give you is to get knocked down on purpose when many boxes start to spawn as you will be invincible when getting up and they will all explode without hurting you. I prefer Cactus for this mode, although Starch is a reasonable choice too. Running out of power will have you restart the whole run from scratch.

If you are having trouble, refer to the following video:

If it’s difficult for you yourself, but there are no friends nearby, buy bots. I installed one, with two and three there was not enough time between battery drops. One bot turned out to be the best choice. Bots stubbornly get into the thick of things and approach the boss point-blank, so most bosses can’t even shoot normally, since they have to constantly kick the stupid bot in close combat. Most of the time the bot lies dead or is resurrected. Meanwhile, you calmly shoot the boss from afar. That is why it is better to play with two people and not install more bots, they will still die every second, and you will have to remove the boss’s health for four people and there will definitely not be enough time.
