How to unlock the Out Of Your Depth achievement in Assault Android Cactus - Definitive Guide

Hey all, just a video with some tips for getting to floor 25 in infinity drive mode. Biggest things to do:
-Get good with one android
-Know the first three bosses
-Powerups don't despawn, keep them there for later
-aim for the annoying enemies first
-pause if it gets to crazy

does enabling ex options effect getting this achievement?

I don't think it effects it, but I couldn't find anything to say one way or another.

so you can put on 3 more AI teammates and get this achievement easy?

I wouldn't say "easy"... YMMV, but my best runs have been so far alone, the AI is pretty useless in infinity mode and will just "stole" the powerups, ruining any possible strategy. I only find them mildly useful against the bosses because they act as fodder (funny enough, in story mode I have the feeling is the other way around).

Just got the achievement after many many attempts. Got it with Starch, no ex options enabled. Thanks for the tips!

I got to level 18 the first try and 22 the second. Frustrating as it takes so long to do this at a time but it definitely seems doable..

Yea it's annoying when you end up stopping a run, but in all honesty if you can S+ the three bosses then you should be good enough to run through it. Always get Firepower upgrade as it helps cut down the enemies quicker thus saving battery life. Keep at it, and hope you get it!

Did you get to layer 50 Ratpoizen? I only could get to 28 at my best run. Either way sound advice!

Don't try to do this multiple times in a row! I have a feeling you can do actual physical damage to your fingers from holding down the right trigger and gripping the controller so tight! Just try it once per day. I did this with Holly - having auto-guided bullets in later stages is nice when it gets frantic. That way you can watch where you're going while your bullets do the aiming. Plus she had basically an insta-kill in her secondary attack.

QisaBluevixen and bigsmok3r: There's a setting in the options to enable auto-fire, so you don't need to hold down the trigger at all. That's how I play. (In this mode, holding the trigger will STOP firing, but AFAIK there's no reason to ever do so.)

Definitely you NEED the AI to get the stupid battery, otherwise you don't make too far. That battery dependant system ruined the game.

Infinity Drive pits you against endless waves of enemies and is unlocked by proceeding through the Campaign. Each layer has a set amount of enemies and in a few of them you will also have to fight bosses. For this trophy, you need to successfully clear the first 24 layers, which takes about 30 minutes.

Starch is the optimal character for this mode since she combines speed and power. Your priority here are the batteries as the only way to get a Game Over is to run out of power. Starch can destroy mobs very quickly but there are a few very chaotic layers where you’ll keep getting knocked down and lose precious time, putting you in danger. Kill everything as quickly as possible, use i-frames and do NOT miss any batteries (unless you are in a boss fight, although it’s still recommended not to miss any there either). Shutdown is usually the most handy upgrade to pick up, especially when surrounded, but Firepower is a great choice if you have just recovered from a knockdown (the primary weapon’s power decreases when knocked down). Do not try this run with other androids or with AI partners, unless you want more chaos and pain.

If you are having trouble, refer to the following video:

The achievement unlocks when you reach level 25.
Played in co-op: Starch + Holly.
The main thing is to take out your enemies with speed.
Take it out faster and you'll get the battery faster.
And know the tactics for killing bosses. They are all simple.

Took place in a co-op
The tactics were relatively simple: they picked up everything that fell out, but playing as Starch, I always stayed on the map away from my partner, so that both of us wouldn’t fall at the same time and one of us would take the battery. It took more than 30 minutes for a successful run.
