How to unlock the To Cross The Void achievement in Assault Android Cactus - Definitive Guide
This achievement will pop upon completing the game, which requires defeating Medulla in level 5-5.
The battle consists of eight parts and takes place in a circular arena:
Phase 1) A large dome appears in the middle that you must shoot while avoiding blue orbs and lasers.
Phase 2) A repeat of the final phase of Embryo, the boss from level 1-5.
Phase 3) The dome reappears, this time circled by rotating red and blue orbs.
Phase 4) A repeat of the final phase of Vespula, the boss from level 2-5.
Phase 5) The dome reappears, this time circled by purple and blue projectiles.
Phase 6) A repeat of the final phase of Justice, the boss from level 3-5.
Phase 7) Medulla appears in the middle and is flanked by various hazards that must be avoided.
Phase 8) You are teleported to the Aethersphere where you must quickly destroy several waves of geometric enemies.

+1 on the guide. If you're having trouble with completing this, try using Coral. While her shotgun requires you to get closer to the boss to score hits, it can hit hard and will one-hit most minions in this fight. Best of all, her plasma field weapon does massive damage, deflects many bullets and remains in place even if Coral takes too much damage and has to be revived.

In order to rescue the Genki Star, you have to beat Medulla, the boss of the fifth Zone and last boss of the Campaign. Medulla is by far the hardest and most unfair boss in the game, not to mention that the last secret phase has no power-ups or batteries and needs to be cleared in about one minute. Cactus is the character I recommend. If you need visual reference for this fight, refer to the second video under Assault Android Awesome (the fight starts at 29:31).
