How to unlock the You Are Special! achievement in Assetto Corsa - Definitive Guide
This is probably the hardest achievement in all racing games, so before trying this one out for yourself, you are warned that not everyone will be able to complete this achievement due to the high level of difficulty.
Another thing that should be noted, is that it is possible to finish this achievement without a proper steering wheel like the G920, I was able to finish it while utilizing a standard controller, but given the simulation nature of the game, a steering wheel would come in hand to make matters easier, so you should consider that before trying as well. With that out of the way, I will explain mode by mode the best ways to finish each and every single one of them, and which ones are needed, because there is a certain amount of dlc events which are not required for the achievement.
Let's start with the easier ones first and work our way up towards the harder ones. So first let's talk about the drift events.
Example: Event Name - Vehicle Name / Racetrack Name and Layout
DRIFT: Probably the easiest mode to finish with a small amount of events, and a low skill required to finish them.
This is the list of drift events needed for the achievement:
Drift Legend - BMW M3 E30 Drift / Drift
KS Approved - BMW M3 E30 Drift / Vallelunga Club
Will it drift? - KTM X-Bow R / Drift
Oversteering Hard - BMW M3 E92 drift / Magione
It might do it - Ferrari 458 Italia / Silverstone International
Rolling - BMW M3 E30 Drift / Drift
Zeta vier - BMW Z4 E89 Drift / Drift
Clouds of Smoke - BMW M3 E92 drift / Drift
Ur-Quattro is back! - Audi Sport quattro Step1 / Drift
My tips for this one are to not get confident, and try to get a lot of points in one go because you will end up in the grass eventually. And as long as you get the hang of your car limit, you will not have any problem. The video is to use his tune for the last event because with the Audi stock you will probably not be able to go sideways and also in case you want some reference to finish some of the events.
TIME ATTACK: Easy as the drift ones because of the lower amount of events compared to the other two(races and hot laps), and because of the trick to get it done.
This is list of time attack events needed for the achievement:
Pro Attitude - Tatuus FA01 / Vallelunga
Arcadia - McLaren MP4-12C / Monza 1966 Road Course
Empire Challenge - P4/5 Competizione 2011 / Silverstone GP
Dark Side - Lotus Exige Scura / Imola
Austrian Bow - KTM X-Bow R / Mugello
Modern Run - Lotus Exos 125 Stage 1 / Magione
Vintage Run - Ferrari 312T / Imola
Here are the keys - Alfa Romeo Mito QV / Vallelunga Club
My precious - Ford GT40 / Zandvoort
The trick to complete these with gold medals, is to not go as fast as you can from the get go, and stay in first gear and reach the checkpoints with around 5 seconds or lower left on the clock, and as time goes on you start to accelerate a little more lap after lap in order to reach the required score.
HOT LAP: Now things will get significantly harder, because it will be required a fast and clean lap to get the gold medal, and not to mention the variety of vehicles and tracks which only adds to the difficulty of the challenge.
This is list of hot lap events needed for the achievement:
German Fury - BMW M3 E92 drift / Magione
Shining Red - Ferrari 599XX EVO / Monza
Demon on wheels - BMW Z4 GT3 / Imola

Fxx K at Barcelona - Ferrari FXX K / Barcelona Moto
P1 at Spa - McLaren P1 / Spa
This is not an easy one by all means, the video is a must if you want to get the gold medals, because the setups will make the difference that you need to reach the required lap times. My general tips would be: use traction control on older cars in case you can't control the oversteer, don't get afraid of Nordschleife because even though it's a 8 minute lap, you do not need to get a perfect lap as there is some space for mistakes so don't be afraid of it, using the minimum fuel and the softest tyre is the best way to win extra seconds together with the setups from the video, and as hard as this challenge looks to be, don't be afraid, not all challenges will be tough so as long as you have resiliency, you shouldn't be worried.
RACES: The last and hardest one with a big amount of events and on the biggest difficulty of the game.
This is list of race events needed for the achievement:
Tatuus Race - Tatuus FA01 / Monza

A racing life - Abarth 595 SS / Brands Hatch Indy
Fortunately there are ways to win the achievement, because even though this is the hardest difficulty, there are at least two ways to make it easier for you.
1: Cutting corners and holding the opponents to stay in first(Monza is a great example), yes you will receive a penalty for cutting the track, but if you can keep your opponents behind then this should work for you.
2: A common method pointed by a few players is to wait for them to drive one lap, and once they reach you, to utilize your vehicle to block the track, and after a few seconds they will respawn at the pit and will be out of the race. I found this one to be inconsistent, but it is up to you to choose what works for you and what doesn't.
Yes these are cheeky ways to finish these races, but I don't think any achievement hunter will be complaining about it.
Aditional tips are: In Brands Hatch as soon as the lights go off, you pause the game and go to the pit, and from there you will get an advantage in slower vehicles races; in Silverstone on the first corners you don't get a penalty for cutting there; and lastly the advice for the soft tyres and minimum fuel helps this one as well.
If you got this far and was able to get the achievement congratulations, it's not an easy one and you know why by this point.
Also if there is something else you have to add to the guide that could be useful comment below and will update it.

This is awesome, full of great tips on the race ones too. thank you! The list looks so daunting but with this I now know which actually count towards it. I can chip away at drift and time attack ones before thinking of the others.

Without some guidance most people would just freak out with things like the time attack but with this guide with all in one information it helps out a lot.

This trophy will unlock along with the corresponding silver trophy for whichever Special Event you finish last, when you return to the Special Event mode menu.
This guide was translated automatically.
In all STANDARD (without DLC) races.

For owners of the ultimate, the last test for the trophy (if you go in order) will be “Racing Life” on the Abarth 595. Then all the DLC.
But there are also several DLCs squeezed into the top of the list; they also don’t need to be completed.
These are the ones you should NOT go through:
- Just like Keiichi Tsuchiya!
- Come on, baby, come on!
- Roman holiday
- Back to the Future
- Black and white
- Looks like a cat
- Time to attack
- Sturm und Drang
- The best track in the world
- Light as a feather
- Leading the herd
- R8 - barcelona
- R8 race - Barcelona
- R8 race - spa
